A beachside tourist destination at the southern point of the Sinai Peninsula, it basks in year-long sunshine and enjoys beautiful coastal views across the Red Sea.

    Sharm el-Sheikh combines old style architecture and fascinating local markets with modern air-conditioned accommodation and entertainment. If you want a more active break you won’t have far to look with wind-surfing, scuba-diving and all kinds of water sports available for beginners or experts. Alternatively, if you are happy lounging by the pool with a good book and a steady supply of refreshments, there is a place for you here!

    Reliably warm weather

    Before you decide which resort you want to set up your towel in, we have some good news for you – summer in Sharm el Sheikh starts in April and doesn’t end until October! You will enjoy highs of 36˚C with lows at night of around 29˚C. Combine this with the warm Red Sea, a cooling breeze and almost zero rain and you have ideal conditions to explore the top resorts.

    Let’s start with Coral Sea Water World, an impressive hotel on the beach which has two huge pools and its own waterpark – so you can splash around all day with your family on a few steps away from your hotel room. After you’ve finished exploring the 400-metre beach or tackling the waterslides you’ll enjoy spacious, cool rooms and a selection of three restaurants within the complex.

    Another family favourite for Falcon travellers is the Holiday Village Red Sea which has seven restaurants to choose from and no less than five different swimming pools. The kids will love the aerial adventure course beside the beach while the adults can relax on nearby loungers. You’ll also be a short distance from the bars and restaurants of El-Khan and La Strada shopping areas.

    The Hyatt Regency is set to be one of the most popular hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh this summer. Travellers can take advantage of the gym, take time-out at the spa, hang out by the pool or visit the beachside bar. You’ll even find a diving centre on the beachfront where you can begin to dip into the Red Sea.

    Elsewhere, Club Magic sits near a pristine beach with access to a colourful coral reef that is one of the most unique sights in the area. A huge pool is the centrepoint for the hotel, with stylish balcony rooms surrounding it.

    The Nubian Island resort features a distinctive pink and terracotta design with winding walkways, gardens and modern, bright lounges. The hotel has two lagoon pools, three restaurants with excellent cuisine including local seafood. You’ll also have a private beach to enjoy and a bar for evening cocktails.

    Sensatori Resort is just perfect for a summer break. Unwind and enjoy the rooftop spa or take the plunge in a range of swimming pools. Kids will love the splash park and the 650-metre stretch of sand on your doorstep. This location also enjoys top entertainment, a wide choice of suites and rooms plus a enviable location overlooking Ras Nosrani Bay.

    Sharm el Sheikh

    A holiday at Tropicana Rosetta has it all, with four pools to choose from, an Italian à la carte restaurant and a village like network of low-rise whitewashed buildings to explore. Situated in lively Naama Bay you are close to cafes, shisha bars and nightclubs with the beach a short 5-minute walk away.  

    For the ultimate in elegance, look to the Jaz Mirabel experience by Thomson Holidays with a grand Arabian style hotel, enormous terraces, stylish lobbies and an immaculate private beach. There are four pools at this resort and a choice of five restaurants. The luxury spa is definitely worth investing some quality time in, and another distinctive feature is the theatre, which hosts high-calibre evening shows.

    Also offering a private beach area, the Reef Oasis Blue has some really amazing rooms with a smart, contemporary style and generous proportions. You’ll be able to cool off in an impressive infinity pool or head off to the waterpark. In the evening, enjoy fine dining in their gourmet French restaurant and look out at the stars over the Red Sea.

    Xperience St George Homestay is an exceptional holiday base situated on Um El-Sid Hill, close to Old Sharm el-Sheikh. They have two swimming pools and a well-equipped health club. You’ll be entertained by traditional Egyptian dancers and hear stories of the rich heritage of the beautiful scenery that surrounds you. All this and a bus service to take you to the nearby St George Beach Club.
