  • Keeping the family entertained on holiday in Corfu

Every parent knows that keeping a young family entertained on holiday takes top priority, especially with young children. Holidays to Corfu are a great choice as they offer lots of different activities and attractions that children of all ages and parents can enjoy together.  What makes it even better is that it gets plenty of beautiful Greek sunshine too!

The Emerald Isle has been a popular holiday choice for decades. With oodles of postcard perfect beaches and diverse attractions, there are many things that you and the kids can do and enjoy on the wonderful island of Corfu.

    Aqualand Village Holiday

As the name might suggest, this resort is located right next door to Corfu’s water park and offers free entry to all guests. Three adrenaline-pumping water slides will keep you twisting and turning all day long, whilst the younger children can have a splash around in their very own pool, starring a slippery octopus, a screaming frog and shower mushrooms. Home to the world’s third largest wave pool it’s a perfect location jam-packed with fun for all the family.

The resort prides itself on being very family friendly; the hotel’s rooms are very generously sized, while the food is tasty, nutritious and comes highly recommended by all who stay there.

    Corfu Aquarium

Built in 2008, this new attraction in Paleokastritsa is small but mighty and boasts a larger than expected collection of local wildlife, including eels, octopuses, crabs and a collection of reptiles. You can ask to see the boa constrictor that lives there and if you’re really, really brave you can possibly hold it!

Guided tours take place throughout the day and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. They are on hand throughout the building to answer any questions that you might have.

    Corfu Reptilla Roda

Simply known as the Reptile House in English, this attraction lets visitors get up close and personal with a wide range of reptiles and, like Corfu Aquarium, a few lucky people might be able to hold some of the reptiles!

Curious children and parents will really appreciate the opportunity to learn more about the island’s reptiles and the staff are really keen to teach people about how to interact with reptiles properly. All the family will come away with a different take on our cold-blooded scaly counterparts.

There is so much to do on holiday in Corfu and it really can make for the perfect family vacation spot. Similar to our home country, Ireland, many refer to Corfu as the ‘Emerald Isle’ mainly because of her stunning green landscape. However, we prefer to think of it as ‘The Island of Adventure’ so pack your bags and get ready, get set and go for a holiday filled with fun, promise and perfect memories.
