With summer 2015 just a few months away, we’re taking a fresh look at our Splashworld resorts in the Baleric Islands; specifically the Marina Parc Apartments in Arenal D’en Castell, Menorca and Hotel Saturno in Alcudia, Majorca. These resorts are an absolute must visit, especially for families with young children this year and it’s all down to their waterparks, which we have hand selected as they are the very best on the island.

Menorca (or as it’s sometimes known, Minorca) has been a popular destination for travellers searching for a bit of sun, sea and sand all year round. The island is known for its spectacular views, unspoilt, lush greenery and of course, ancient history, which includes mysterious stone monuments, known as Talayotic settlements which date back to 2,000 BC.

The Marina Parc Apartments can be found amongst 12 acres of lush, fertile greenery and it’s just 10 minutes walk from the nearby Arenal beach. At this resort, the family reigns supreme, as three different swimming pools, three dedicated childrens rooms, our signature Kids Club and sports such as table tennis and football are on offer.

But it wouldn’t be a Splashworld Resort without a bit, no, a lot of water and the Marina Parc Apartments have been rated 8 by some of the hardest travellers to please: young children. Guests can get wet and wild in the wave pool which has simulated waves, take advantage of the tube slides, body slides, kids slides and even our multi-lane sides, where you can slide with your family and friends by your side.

Back on dry land, guests can also enjoy a number of non-water based facilities, including sun beds, an air-conditioned buffet restaurant and work up a sweat in the gym.

in Majorca, the Hotel Saturno Resort gives guests unlimited access to the onsite waterpark for free. Like the Marina Parc apartment, the waterpark offers body slides, the aptly named speed slides which always make you go a lot faster than you think and dedicated kids slides for the little ones.

A busy entertainment schedule keeps guests of all ages busy at night, while unlimited free buffet, local wines and spirits as well as unlimited free ice cream for children between the hours of 10am and 12am ensures that guests are well fed and watered after a long day slipping and sliding at the nearby waterpark.

The Saturno is also very close to lots of shops and restaurants and guests can take advantage of the regular shuttle service from the hotel to Alcudia Beach 1km away. This shuttle service is free of charge to all guests and Alcudia Beach is believed to be the most beautiful beach on the island. The beach in the Balearic Islands
