  • The NYE Parties That Will Make You Want to Bring in the New Year Abroad

There’s only one way to celebrate the end of the year, and that’s with a mighty fine party. Falcon has destinations that really know how to party when New Year’s Eve rolls around. Put your champagne on ice and read about these locations that will make you want to pack your suitcase after Christmas and spend New Year somewhere warm and wonderful.

    Tenerife

Firework displays are one thing that Tenerife does exceptionally well. In fact, so many firework displays take place on the island on New Year’s Eve that you’ll find it hard to choose which one to see. The place to be at this time of year is on the seafront in the resort of Los Cristianos. Live bands get the party started around 11.00 pm and the fireworks light up the Tenerife sky at midnight.

La Caleta in the resort of Costa Adeje is another show stealer in the south of Tenerife. In fact, this outdoor celebration is so good that it’s broadcast on Spanish TV. The atmosphere is electric as the clock edges ever closer towards midnight. Remember to bring some cava and 12 grapes with you. In Spain they usher in the New Year by eating a grape on every chime of the clock at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

    Lopesan Baobab in Gran Canaria

A stay at this African-themed hotel in the Thomson Platinum range is a stylish way to step into 2016. Situated in the south of Gran Canaria close to its famous dunes and the Maspalomas lighthouse, you can see the magical New Year’s Eve fireworks when the 31st of December comes around. Not only that, the hotel is near the promenade, so if you fancy buying something nice to slip into for the occasion you can go out and buy it before the clock chimes midnight.

Book an elegant suite with an ocean view and a balcony, always inspiring in the colder months. The restaurant has two buffet restaurants serving international cuisine. If you’re looking for a taste of Africa you can dine on the weekly African-themed nights, or you can opt for some a la carte options at the Akara African restaurant in the evenings.

While you wait for the countdown to begin, there are a host of activities you can do during the day at this premium hotel. You can engage in some healthy competition with a family member on the table tennis table, or work up a sweat with some aerobics. You can also work on your swing at the nearby golf course, which offers a discount for guests of the hotel.
