We may already be part way through the year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still create a few resolutions to achieve in 2019. While most resolutions centre around losing weight, quitting smoking and learning new hobbies, did you know you can make travel resolutions too?

Traveling is great for the mind, and it also gives you the perfect opportunity to forget your troubles and experience new cultures. So, if you’re looking to travel more this year, below you’ll discover 5 travel resolutions to make in 2019.

    1. Explore somewhere new

It’s great to find a destination you want to visit over and over again. However, there are so many unique and wonderful destinations to choose from, so why restrict yourself to just one?

Make one of your travel resolutions of 2019 to visit a new destination. If you’re not sure where to head to, check out our destination page. This will show you all of the destinations we cover, with hundreds of options available.

    1. Be more prepared

As beneficial as travel can be, it can also be extremely stressful! That is of course, unless you go prepared. While you could save a lot taking advantage of last-minute deals, it’s important to give yourself plenty of time to plan ahead.

By taking your time, it gives you the opportunity to ensure you’re well-packed, create an itinerary and you’ll get to shop around for the best deals. It can actually work out much more affordable if you book in advance, plus you can ensure you’re choosing the best destination. We also recommend adding on holiday extras too, such as booking attraction tickets in advance and making sure you’ve got adequate travel insurance. Check out our holiday extras page now.

    1. Eliminate the stress

While making sure you’re prepared will definitely lower the stress, you can also make the experience more relaxing by focusing on the journey. Making sure you have everything you need ahead of time, having a schedule and coming up with fun games and activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the journey will all help to make it less stressful.

    1. Pack smarter

If you want to make sure you don’t go over your baggage allowance and you aren’t carrying around a bulky, large suitcase, make one of your resolutions to pack smarter this year. That means, rolling clothes instead of folding them to fit more in and only taking what you actually need.

You could even invest in a smart suitcase. If you’ve never heard of them, they are basically suitcases which come with numerous smart features, such as a charger to charge up those devices.

    1. Look your best

Another great tip that’s going to help you relax on holiday, is to resolve to look your best. That doesn’t mean you need to spend hours doing your hair and makeup! It simply means making sure you’re taking care of your hair and skin. Don’t forget to lather on the sunscreen, and ensure you’re taking the holiday beauty essentials such as after sun and serum.

These are just 5 travel resolutions to make in 2019. Did you set yourself any travel related goals this year? We’d love to hear about them in the comments below…
