Holidays to Duni are all about slowed-down days on the beach, with some nearby culture added for good measure.
It’s hard to look past the beach scene when it comes to Duni. This resort, on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Bourgas and Sunny Beach. So, what you’ll find here is a trio of beaches that are yet to draw too much attention to themselves. That means peaceful days on Blue Flag sands, without having to scrimp on space.
Sense of style
Before a modern footprint made its mark, Duni was mostly dunes and countryside. These days, you’ll find a little cluster of modern hotels close to the seafront, which are designed to look like a traditional Bulgarian village from the outside. Smart interiors and well-kept grounds are the norm, so you can expect seclusion with a slice of style.
Step back in time
Duni’s surrounded by age-old sites, checking off everything from the Bronze Age to Renaissance periods. Take a 15-minute drive to Sozopol, and you’ll find an old town that’s filled with stone fortifications and weathered wooden houses. To the west is the grand Castle of Ravadinovo. Or head south, and check out the prehistoric Beglik Tash – a religious rock sanctuary that was home to ancient tribes.
