Yes, as of January 15th 2023 Mexico passed a new law making it illegal to smoke anywhere in public.
This includes smoking in patios, terraces, balconies, amusement parks, playgrounds, sports areas, hotels, beaches, entertainment centers, courts, stadiums, arenas, shopping malls, markets, hospitals, clinics, churches or places of religious worship, restaurants and bars.
However, there will be designated smoking areas in hotels.
