Before you go

Do I need a passport to travel on a Marella cruise?

Yes, you will need a passport to travel with Marella. You must check the entry requirements of every destination you’re visiting during your cruise, even if you’re not planning to go ashore – the ship’s arrival counts as your entry to the country as immigration information is shared with the authorities ahead of our arrival.

You can only travel to the EU and Schengen area countries if your passport was issued less than ten years from the date of departure. Your passport must also be valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave your holiday destination. You can check your passport validity for EU and Schengen area countries with our passport checker.

Passport validity requirements vary from country to country, for some destinations you will need to have six months validity left on your passport from the date you travel home.

If you have dual nationality, you must travel with all your documentation and let the ship team and authorities know you’re travelling with multiple passports.

Just so you know, it's your responsibility to comply with all passport, visa and other immigration requirements for the country you're visiting. Your passport and travel documents must be intact, too. You may not be allowed to travel if they're damaged or they've been tampered with. We don't accept any responsibility if you can't travel because you haven't complied with the requirements.
