Best time to go to Dolomites
The contrast of mountain peaks and sweeping valleys means that summers tend to be pretty mild. July and August bring the warmest weather, with temperatures peaking at around 25ºC, and averaging around 20ºC. Of course, it’ll be breezier if you head up into the mountains, and warmer if you stay lower down. Visit in May or June to see meadows bursting with alpine flowers. Spring can bring rain showers but, in general, the Dolomites receive less rain annually that most of the Italian Alps – especially if you stick to the northern areas.
