LUX* Belle Mare

We have recently returned from a wonderful week at the Lux Belle Mare. The hotel and facilities were excellent and the staff and service they provided exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very special. It is impossible to single out particular staff members as absolutely everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and well cared for and set on the most gorgeous beach. All the food we ate was delicious but we particularly enjoyed Beach Rouge with its views and relaxed ambiance and The Duck Laundry which provided some of the best Chinese food we have ever eaten. All the little touches made this a truly memorable holiday and we were very sad to leave. Cannot recommend this resort more highly.

Lux Belle Mare is a beautiful resort set on one of the best beaches on Mauritius. This was our fifth visit to Lux Belle Mare, which should say a lot, and yet again we think it was the best vacation we have ever had. We return to Lux because the standard of care, the culture of personal attention, and the level of professionalism is exemplary. It is rare to find people like the staff at Lux who truly take such pride in their work. (Everyone in the hospitality industry globally should visit Lux to see how it should be done). The rooms are luxurious, they have everything you need, the grounds really are beautiful, the hotel has every amenity you could want, and the guest services are faultless. The food is exceptional. Beach Rouge has a cool, youthful vibe with excellent international cuisine. There are fine-dining options at Amari and Duck Laundry. Amari is creating some of the best Indian food in the world, and it is worth visiting Lux just for that. When I compare our dinners at Duck Laundry to the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant we frequent in Mayfair, London, it is clear that Duck Laundry is far superior. At the Lux Me Spa I had the best massage I have ever had, thank you Junia for the Balinese massage, and thank you Asha for the opportunity to experience your wonderful Spa. Much of our holiday fun was provided by the water sports at the Boat House where there is a great team who are all extremely helpful and there are lots of activities to try. After the strains of water sports, what better way to unwind and flex than with yoga or tai-chi near the beautiful and tranquil gazebo and koi pond. Our many wonderful memories include the sunset cruise, from the boat house, together with wine and delicious food from the kitchens, to experience the bay just for ourselves, see the sun set over the resort with the crash of waves on the reef in the distance. Lux continues to innovate, this time we were fortunate to experience the chocolate workshop with Chef Denis, who is an inspiration. we found the workshop educational for both mind and palate, sparking creativity and in itself broadening our horizons. We can highly recommend it. The wine cave is also new and an excellent way to sample a great range of wines. The sommeliers Adesh and Amar are very knowledgeable, and can be relied on to choose the right pairing. Lux is setting standards for service and hospitality that others have not even conceived of. Ultimately it is all possible because the staff actually care about their guests. Their hard work and professionalism should not go unnoticed, so it is only right to thank them. Visited the resort for the honeymoon. The the lux has to be the best 5* i have stayed at so far. Quality in all aspects of the stay. Room, food and choice of drink was brilliant. A range of activities on site if you like to keep yourself busy and part take. You also have the ability to relax and unwind in various locations within the complex.
