    My wife and I just spent a wonderful week with two of our sons (14 & 21yrs) at the Cerro Mar Colina apartments in Albufeira. Spotlessly clean apartment, good size bedroom, lounge and fully fitted kitchen (it even had dishwasher & washing machine). Room was cleaned daily and towels changed as frequently as you needed. If there was a downside, it would be that the sofa style bed in the lounge was a bit uncomfortable and maybe the bathroom could do with a makeover, but nothing that would put us off from returning. We were also fortunate enough to be on the ground floor with a HUGE balcony overlooking the pool. In terms of facilities, the buffet style breakfast was amazing, usual English fare plus continental breads, pastries and fruit. Freshly squeezed orange juice and Prosecco bucks fizz if you fancied it at 8AM (of course we did - we were on holiday). We didn't use the restaurant at lunch or dinner as we only stayed for a week and wanted to try other places, but the prices seemed reasonable and they had a lunchtime buffet offer for 9 Euros. The hotel also has an indoor pool, gymnasium and spa facilities. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that even though I counted 5 outdoor pools throughout the complex, they were all FREEZING cold. The weather for the end of October was reasonable, but Cerro Mar you need to get the heaters on! Great views of Albufeira Old Town and only about 10-15 minutes walk down the steps to the main central square. Close enough to get to the many restaurants and sample the nightlife but far enough away to avoid if you so wished. The steps are a bit taxing coming back up, would imagine even worse in 30 degree heat, but I'm told that a taxi back was only around 4 Euro if you don't fancy the walk and the hotel also runs a free shuttle at timed intervals during the day. Second visit to Portugal, first to Albufeira and would definitely return to Cerro Mar in the future.

    Excellent position, excellent staff, excellent cleanliness, excellent service, excellent facilities, excellent night life, excellent beaches, excellent walks, excellent check in, excellent views from room, it was all excellent !!!

    Stayed for 4 days with my daughter and friends . The apartments are in a separate area from the hotel and are not 4 star at all ..more like 3 star !! Mould on ceilings, condensation, dirty curtains, old blankets, little bugs running around in mornings ...Very disappointing and would not stay here again ! The hotel area is nice and the food in the hotel bar is ok .

    Cerro Mar Garden Location of this hotel is great. Close to the old town it's not far to walk, yet far enough away that you don't have to worry about the noise from it in the evening. However, if you are less able-bodied then this place probably isn't for you as there are around 100 uneven steps down/ up to/ from as access to the old town. Reception staff were friendly as were the cleaning staff. However, didn't see the cleaning staff that often and don't think that they cleaned the room apart from emptying the bins. Our 2 bed apartment was a comfortable stay but don't think this is anywhere near a 4-star place as listed. Would say this is more 3-star. The decor was a little dated, although the kitchens seemed fairly new with good facilities. Hotel itself was fairly clean and modern. Restaurant - we had breakfast once here, which offered a good selection and is a fair alternative if you don't fancy walking to the old town for breakfast. Pool - we visited out of school term and there was still a hunt for sunbeds, so can only assume that it would be a nightmare in the school holidays to find anywhere. The pool was COLD, I mean really cold, which is probably why there wasn't many people in there. I saw parents of young children decide against taking them in. For a cheap stay for a short holiday this place is fine and does the job.

    Just had a wonderful 1 week holiday in Albufeira staying at the CerroMar Atlantico. The complex has both hotel rooms and apartments and we had a self catering apartment. Great staff, choice of pools, bars, restaurants , bowling, games areas plus spa and leisure/ health complex. There’s a small supermarket about 50metres away if your self catering. 5 minutes walk down the steps into old town square so the location worked for us really well. The apartment was clean and well equipped with housekeeping staff in every day. Can’t fault it.
