A clean and well run 4+ hotel
We stayed at this hotel as it was recommended by some friends and it turned out be a great holidays ,all rooms have bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and sitting room with a big balcony over looking the pool area and views towards the old town and sea. Only drawback is the hotel was located on a hill and to get to the strip meant a walk down 100 steps which was ok going down but a task walking back up not for people with walking difficulties. We walked down and had a taxi back which was about 4 euros. Plenty of restaurants and bars around the strip to chose from beer averaging 2 to 3 euros and 2 euros for a glass of wine meals were reasonably priced especially the fish average price 7 to 10 euros. The staff at the hotel were excellent rooms cleaned every day bedding and towels changed regularly. The onsite restaurant served excellent meals in the evening and the breakfast room served all day breakfast and continental breakfast there is also a snack during the day. All in all a very good hotel and we enjoyed a great week.More
Currently on two week stay
Beautiful hotel lovely rooms amazing location what’s not amazing however was day two of our holiday I go to the bar to be scolded by the rudest bar staff I’ve ever had the misfortune to meet who treats u as nuisance rather than a holiday maker who saves year round for a great experience had I had anyone like this on my bar they would have been yanked off and put on washing up ! This employee shouted at me in front of my daughter I immediately complained when I was told this particular employee had numerous complaints so they weren’t suprised however he was under contract till Oct 13 and being understaffed they had to have him , myself working in a holiday park understand than somebody is better than nobody but assuring me he would be gone on the 13th was given a bbq voucher for my family which we didn’t use , so it’s the 14th and low and behold who’s at the bar ! I haven’t been able to go to the bar for my entire holiday because of this one employee is the only one working so having to get drinks from our rooms as to avoid his rudeness not wanting to send my daughter to get slushes incase she takes his wrath !! Disappointed is an understatement him alone drops this 4 star to a 2 ! What makes it worse is he was clearly aware of the complaint made and has been more hostile when I have seen him since !!! The staff are done it’s end of season and there past caring except for at 1 am when they finish work and congregate beneath my balcony to shout chase and hit each other EVERY NIGHT !Been here 12 days and now they’ve locked the easy access door which I’m sure is a fire hazard to stop people walking from directly outside to inside Pool so u have the joy of walking threw the hotel in ur bathing suit for everyone to see ! As I said staff are just done so doing all possible short cuts to make closing of season easier for them not more enjoyable for there holiday makers disappointed is an understatement I never go back to the same hotel as I like something different but I definitely won’t be recommending More
Good hotel, but could be better!!
First the good points. We booked this hotel through Thomson as a 4* Half board holiday. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, we were staying in the main block, of which there are three available. Quite a pleasant reception area, politely greeted by our rep, the booked in swiftly by a welcoming reception staff. Into the lift to the main floor, then along to another lift up to the 3rd floor. No assistance with our luggage, but hey ho, not to worry. On entering our room, we were amazed at what we were entering into, nice sized bedroom, with patio doors, then into the lounge diner, with a fully fitted kitchen, oven, hob, toaster, fridge freezer, dishwasher and even a washing machine, the lounge furnished with a settee and a couch, plus a dining table and chairs, all in all a home from home!! The bathroom was ok,ish, bath with shower head attachment, the dreaded plastic shower curtain, washbasin with shaver points (2) and a wired hair dryer, plus a bidet too. Safety deposit box in the ample siding robes, hired for 10 Euros per week. All in all a very nice room. The pool was of a nice size, plenty of sun beds surrounding it, plus a raised terrace for those who prefer a quite area to sunbathe. There was also a bar/snackbar open from 10am to 7pm, of which the food was good and reasonably priced. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, rooms cleaned on a daily basis, also towels changed daily, and bed linen changed every couple of days. So up to this point, we were very happy with our choice of hotel. Its location was on quite a steep hill, i saw one or two people slip over of the tiled pavements outside the hotel. It was also fairly close to Old Town Albufiera, albeit down the 99 steps, taxis ARE available to take you back up at around 4 Euros, so not too bad after a night out on the town. Now the bad thing..... the restaurant, as a half board guest, and after a very long day travelling, we were up at 3AM to get our flight, we went down to our evening meal. Now i know that 'buffet style' is par for the course for many hotels abroad, and we have been to quite a few over the past few years, but i was very disappointed by the choice and quality of the food available in this hotel. There was no 'live chef ' station, a few salad and cold meat selections, and very limited choice of hot food dishes. All of which looked bland and un-palletable. We put this down to our first night tiredness, so didn't say anything. The next night was the same, so we complained to our rep. He passed on the complaint to the Maitre'd and was assured our complaint was noted and if we didn't like the following nights choices, we could try the A'la'Carte menu, of which we did. This too was not the standard we have been accustomed to from a 4* hotel. To put the top hat on things, the staff looked miserable and un-approachable. After 4 nights, we down graded to a bed and breakfast status as neither my wife and I felt that we wanted to dine in there. The breakfast menu wasn't much better...... unless you liked scrambled eggs. Eggs were on a rota, 2, sometimes 3 types of scrambled, every day, then boiled, poached or fried, rotated in that order. Tea and coffee was available from a vending machine, one temperamental toasting machine. So, yes this could be a very nice hotel, and it is probably perfect for those who book a self catering holiday, but as a 4* half boarder, then no, i won't be returning here. The restaurant needs a good shaking up, an ambitious chef, eager staff, then this place would be perfect.More
At travel agent our criteria was a 4 star Hotel, half board and close to old town Square. We chose this hotel that turned out to be self catering apartment. My wife and I travelled with my 2 brothers and sister in laws. It was close to the centre but a steep climb up steps to get back to hotel, no problem to averagely fit person however taxis readily available for just 4 euro. The room was quite spacious, clean and modern. All the facilities you would want for self catering, however we were half board. The bed was hard and the most uncomfortable bed we have slept on any 4 star hotel. We needed to but plankets under the sheet to try and make the bed more comfortable. The public areas were of a high standard. Restaurant, bar and pool area, very good, modern and clean. Although we do not spend time around hotel pools, we notice sun loungers were readily available for all. All the staff we came across were brilliant, very friendly and efficient. There was an adequate selection of food at the buffet breakfast and evening meal, it was very good and enjoyable. All hotels have room maintenance issues from time to time, so It can only be judged by how quickly they deal with them. We had a minor issue with the air conditioning unit that was leaking water. Within 5 minutes of reporting, the maintenance man was in the room and had it repaired within 15 minutes. Can’t ask for better than that. To return to the bed issue, I must say that out of our party of three couples, two had an issue with the bed comfort, but the third who was in another part of the complex, had no problem at all with the bed. So maybe not all the beds are the same. The only thing that would prevent me recommending or returning to this hotel, is the hard bed. If the Management were to address this issue, it would be an excellent hotel, in my opinion More
We had a garden roof view which was nice apart from the annoying seagulls. Room was clean-ish & tidy, although the maids seemed to be a bit lazy at times as they rarely swept the floor. Reception staff were miserable, luckily didn't need them. Pool was nice, quiet until the family from hell turned up & wanted the whole poolside to know they were there. Hotel is far enough away from the square you don't hear it but close enough to walk to, down 98 steps & up then :) I would defo stay here againMore
