Arrived home yesterday after a 2 weeks holiday. Due to every where in Alvor being booked up we stayed here after promising never again. Rats by the outdoor snooker table, Horrendous families allowing their children to use baby pool as a toilet, Cockroaches in the baby pool, TV that doesn't work Elderly people who have emailed ahead to request ground floor accommodation but placed on top floor. Towels and beds only changed once in 2 weeks. Am sorry trip advisor but this place has a pass and should be condemned. PLEASE HOLIDAY MAKERS DO NOT GO HERE..., The only changes since last year are the sun brolleys and they got them free from Pepsi. Once again do not go here. Am happy to answer any other questions.....More
amazing, we will be back.
just home from our first holiday in portugal, we booked a jet 2 package for 10 nights family of 4 and got an amazing deal, we arrived at 12 noon and told to leave luggage our room would be ready at 1 we grabbed a drink and our room was in fact ready. it was located over the bridge. we were driven over with our luggage. i really liked the location over the bridge. we had a 2 bed room appartment it was basic but spotlessly clean, it had a flat screen tv not much in the way of channels but we diddnt watch it anyway, the kitchen was more than adequate. it had a full size gas cooker, fridge, microwave toaster and electric kettle. living area had table and chairs, sofa/bed and 2 chairs as well as a fold out bed. rooms were cleaned mon, wed, fri and sunday, rooms were allways spotless. towels changed every 4 days and sheets once a week. the pool was cold but lovley once you were in, i only saw 1 bed by the pool with 1 small crack on it, the only annoying thing was also there is a sign saying not to keep beds by placing towels on them this happens a lot we ate in the restraunt on this side the first night, and the food was amazing, and the waiter could not have been more attentive. we also have snacks between both sides of burgers and toasties all food was really good. there is a washing machine at reception too which is really useful. 5 euro and includes detergent. our room was 411 and was noisey due to traffic we did consider asking to be moved but really wasnt up for the hastle of packing, plus the kids picked up the wifi from the pool side. after a while you get used to it. beach was stunning and a 15/20 min walk, 5/10 mins takes you to alvor and its many many eating and drinking places, i can highly recomend the venue which is beside the supermarket, and also further into the villiage is atrium 53 fantastic food and service. i found all the staff to be helpfull and any small problems we had were delt with very quickly such as the cord on the shutter snapped, and by the time we walked back from reception is was already being repaired. i loved this hotel and i dont think it requires any updating, and hopefully we will return next year.More
After reading some reviews I was apprehensive about our trip, on arrival our room was immediately ready the man at the desk was very nice. We went to our room and could not believe the size of it, it was 2 bedroom and we got lost in it, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Gardens kept lovely, we didn't visit the restaurant by choice because we love Alvor and like to eat out. Yes there was the odd mosquito in the room but if you don't want to be bitten don't go abroad. spent week in these apartments firstly arrived to reception to be told our room was located across a main busy road from main complex not a great start , apartment was big clean would not complain about cleanliness , no hair dryer available which was a inconvenience , pool area not big enough for size of complex , beds broken few broken umbrellas one Euro per mat for bed disgrace. Restaurant staff very rude as was reception staff. Asked for collection when leaving with suitcases as had to bring them across main road as they did not arrive to bring us over. Facilities poor no electric kettle gas used very dated , whole establishment needs refunds no lifts available very poor More
We have just returned from our holiday and can honestly say we had a fantastic week, very relaxing. Although quite a large complex it was not noisy at all, and all staff were friendly and helpful. The only downfall was having to keep getting cans each night to go into town for meals, but this only cost More
