Stayed here for 4 nights in early October. The apartments were spacious , clean and beautifully decorated . Very friendly staff . Great pool , excellent snack/pool bar. 3-4 minute walk to a fabulous beach and a few nice restaurants bars within this walking distance . Got a taxi in the evening to Alvor marina where there was a choice of beautiful restaurants to eat . Would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely love to visit this hotel again . More
Great hotel very close to great beaches. Staff were very friendly and helpful, complimentary shuttle runs every day with very good drivers. Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment with sea view, very spacious with fully equipped kitchen.More
Just visited Jardim do Vau for the 3th time. The location is perfect. It has a nice pool with a bar and it is located directly at the beach. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. I was only very surprised to find out the A block has no airconditioning. Breakfast is very simple, for a 4 star accomodation I would expect real juice and a buffet with cooling for meet/cheese. More
We really enjoyed our stay here, rooms were lovely and spacious and cleaned daily with amazing views of the sea and surrounding area. Pools were great, it did get windy on the afternoons and on a few occasions the parasols did fly off and were lucky not to hurt someone! The beach is gorgeous and the 4 restaurants next to the hotel are lovely if you have children as they have some freedom to play meaning you can stay out a little longer and enjoy a drink. The staff at the hotel were lovely. I would recommend a day trip to zoomarine if you gave children mine (3, 5 and 16) loved it. But be prepared for it to be busy! The hotel supermarket and the one near to the hotel are expensive. I would recommend you book a taxi and go to the nearest.lidl if you are self catering. There's a cafe on the beach that does takeaway pizzas if your wanting a cheap eat for the family but it closes at 5pm! Would definitely recomend the hotel especially as a family friendly hotel. More
Quiet and peaceful
A lovely hotel in a lovely location right on the beach. When we arrived we were told we had been given an upgrade to a 2 bedroom penthouse ( thank you Jardim do Vau!). This was in block B and comprised 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms living/ dining room and fully fitted separate kitchen. we also had a double balcony with sunbeds and a roof terrace with yet more sunbeds. It was absolutely fab and easily the size of a two bed flat back home. The living room had a full size satellite TV and we had a gorgeous sea view which we had requested. The area is very quiet but an easy 15 minute walk into lively Praia de Rocha, and there are a few restaurants at the rear of the hotel, including Jacaranda whose staff were warm and welcoming. There is also a take away Pizza and a Spar shop as well as an on site shop in the hotel. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus into Portimau each morning which picks up at 2.30 to come back, however I would give it a miss as there is nothing beyond the main square. The hotel and the rooms are kept very clean and the housekeepers visit every day and are very friendly. We only used the restaurant for breakfast which we were glad about as it is a dowdy miserable place with no interaction from staff which is a shame after we had gotten used to the friendliness of restaurant staff in Spanish hotels. However this would not deter us from returning nor from recommending this lovely hotel to others. Thank you Jardim do Vau for a lovely break!More
