These apartments have a relaxed outdoor scene with a couple of pools for adults.

    Avoid if self catering

We arrived here on a roasting hot day at 1.15 and told our room would not be ready till 3pm was told we could put our cases in luggage room, asked lady on reception where the bar was to go get drink to cool us down,We were then shocked at the reply. AS we are Self Catering we cannot use the hotel facilities including the bar unless we pay 30 euros a day this also includes the entertainment, Never came across anything like this before and we travel 3 times a year all over the Canaries. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF SELF-CATERING AS THERE IS NOTHING NEAR BY. THE APARTMENTS ARE OK BUT CLEANING NOT TO GOOD NEVER GOT FLOORS WASHED ONCE IN THE WEEK. WAS LEFT WITH ONE HAND TOWEL BETWEEN 3 PEOPLE, BUT NEVER PHONED RECEPTION AS ALREADY FELT LIKE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS AND NOT FELT VERY WELCOME.
    Ok family holiday

Currently sat waiting for pick up to take us to airport. What can i say about Hotel THE koala gardens. We arrived around 3pm to a busy reception area to where only one guy was working, he was a little flustered seeing the que of guests getting bigger but quickly got around to seeing us. Check in was quick and simple when seen. The room- we 'upgraded' to superior double but quickly noticed all rooms are pretty much the same so save your money. Large communal living area with adequate fridge, kettle and tv with few british channels. They leave a bottle of water, tea and coffee for you to use (we have stayed a week and its never been refilled, bit of a bummer if you would like a brew in the morning before breakfast starts at 8am pool bar doesnt open until 10am) Bedroom- 2 single beds pushed together and not comfy at all, ended up sleeping in living room after the first 2 nights. We also had a cot put up for our 15 month old, again very hard so folded a duvet over the top and little one had much better sleep. Pools- here is where it marks low. Every pool expect 1 (to which i know located in zone 3) which had steps down into the pool for easier access. The rest (we were in zone 2) both pools and kids pool were a nightmare to get in and out of. We went in once the whole week. Usual pools steps which got so hot during the day it was too hot to hold onto, and very slippy getting in and out. Also very deep we could only just touch floor at shallow end and were over 5ft. Kids pool was about a foot deep but no bar to hold onto and a plastic pool grate surrounding it. Wouldnt take much weight to go through it. Kids splash area on maybe twice or 3 times a day but no times to as and when they get switched on. All in all not very good for those with children or difficulties with walking. Food- Typical all inclusive, same food every day near enough, with a few changes to the show cooking. Not enough choice for little ones, hotdogs, burgers, sandwiches, crisps and sweets. They changed it up every other day and had some kind of fish finger and chicken nugget but didnt look or taste edible. Our son lived off sweetcorn and hotdogs for a week. Location- Nothing within general area everything a short taxi ride. We went to aqualand and playa del ingles both around €5 each way. There is holiday world which is a small amusement park but we didnt use as little one too small for any rides. Great little bars inside though the 'sports bar' is a must. There is a Spar shop just across the bigger roundabout which stocks mixed spanish and British goods for good prices. Wouldnt personally return here myself but been a pleasant family week away.

I can not express enough on service in every capacity. The customer service manager called Steve absolutely bent over backwards to our stay outstandingly comftable always there with his lovely smile and softly spoken words, not just with us but every time you walked past reception Steve would be their helping other customers with that lovely smile. The food was amazing, the rooms were very comftable and amazingly clean, room service every day the maids were very friendly the restaurant staff outstandingly friendly the hotel itself was amazing. A massive thankyou to Steve in every way, we will certainly be booking again Patricia and Steven Kirk.
Quiet lovely time at excellent apartments

We came to Koala Gardens because we wanted quiet, sunshine and a nice apartment not too far away from Playa de Ingles promenade, and that is exactly what we got. This is a place for families and couples (in the apartments) if you don’t particularly want noise or entertainment on site... perfect for us! Originally we were put in an upstairs room but we requested to move downstairs and although that couldn’t be done on the Saturday by Monday we had a downstairs apartment. The reception staff were very helpful, although often they are quite busy and you have to wait your turn. The housekeeping is excellent and they come in every day except Thursdays and Saturdays. Each section has its own pool, we were in section 5 and very pleased with our location. The pool is quite big and deep so great for swimming. We didn’t ever have a problem getting sunbeds and an umbrella. It definitely gets busier at the weekend as it seems the Spanish come in for long weekend breaks. For a €5 taxi ride (There is a taxi rank right outside the security gate), you can get to most places, such as Playa de Ingles beach where there are plenty of lovely restaurants. We highly recommend Columbus restaurant daily special menu -it’s the best food we had for €10. You can also go to San Agustin for a meal and a beautiful beach, or go to the Lighthouse (Faro) at Maspolamas beach for fancier restaurants. You can walk up the road to the market that is on Wednesdays and Saturdays to pick up a few bargains! It is about a 5 minute walk away. There is a nearby Spar shop which for us had everything we needed, just across the road. The only thing is that there is nowhere within a short walking distance for a proper evening meal. If there had been it would have been perfect! Some more energetic couples were quite capable of walking further than us and they walked to the beach but it was a good 30 minute walk. Most evenings we just took a €5 taxi to go somewhere to eat. We did ask at the all-inclusive Hotel section how much it would cost to have an evening meal with them, but they don’t do it, you have to buy a band for a days all-inclusive menu which costs €30 each. We would greatly recommend visiting Palmitos animal park. We took a taxi there and back which cost about €15 each way. I believe you can get a bus though? It is quite expensive, €32 each, however if you pick up one of their leaflets from the airport you get a €3 each discount which helps a little bit! The birds of prey show is quite remarkable, and the dolphin show is lovely too. We would definitely come back to Koala apartments again. We thought it was brilliant value for money, a good location, quiet, beautiful clean apartments and we were blessed with lovely weather too! 5 stars from us!
