This palatial complex has four huge pools and an artificial beach. And the real beach is about a 25-minute walk away.
The pools are one of the biggest draws at this lavish complex – there are four of them, along with an artificial beach. The real beach, meanwhile, is only 25 minutes away on foot.
The buffet restaurant serves international dishes and a few local specialities, while evening entertainment comes in the form of live music and shows. And the international à la carte is open all day.

Booked through Thomson, that was error one. Arrived at the hotel after the usual 1 hour Thomson delay at the airport. Greeted by the fastest talking receptionist in the world. Maybe she was speaking fast as she realised the junior family suite we had booked through Thomson was not available or more likely she didn't say anything but merely sent us to pretty much the furthest room away probably in the hope we wouldn't come back to complain that it was the most basic room I've seen and obviously not the room we had paid Thomson a ransom for. Back to reception to be told there is nothing they can do and there is no manager on site and worst still the hotel is fully booked. Over to the useless Thomson Rep who also explained there is nothing they can do and in fact the entire island of Gran Canaria is fully booked for the week which seemed outstanding knowledge. She then told us no one in the entire Thomson company can help us as it was 9:30pm and no one works after 6pm including the hotel manager. So Grin and bare the most basic of rooms but the good news is that dinner is still open for another 5 minutes. So off to dinner in the 5 minutes we Had, although another wait for the lift as only one of the 2 were working, no sign on it so people just staring at it in the hope it would eventually come. Hopefully the dinner would be outstanding to take the edge of the woeful service so far. Nope had to make up our own table and then a pretty basic selection of food, best described as school dinners. If you are thinking of booking Thomson I would suggest you consider all alternatives first. If you look at the pretty picture of this hotel on line then don't be fooled, maybe they were taken several years ago. More
Maintenance issues impact overall quality significantly
There is good and bad to this hotel. I will attempt to cover both and give my view so you can decide if it is for you. I would not revisit here, however I understand it may be right for some people, specifically those with families. I would certainly not rate it as 4 star P (or whatever it claims under Thomson); I heard many guests speaking with the rep in the hotel each day suggesting similarly so it seems quite a wide view and not just mine. Starting with the bad parts. Maintenance at this hotel is poor in many areas. Around the pool area there were lots of swimming tiles missing; more than just an odd one that had fallen off. Similarly the wood was in bad need of replacing or re-painting. This meant the areas looked a much lower standard, and for the sake of some simple maintenance and small cost I do not understand why these have been allowed to get in to this state. In the hallways and rooms there was a lot of wood that was cracking at the edges and stained (you will see other pictures in the full list that show this, and again this is not acceptable in a hotel claiming to be a 4 star). The bathroom had dirty grout. If this wants to be a true 4 star then this should be cleaned every now and again to get rid of this. (Again you will see other pictures that show this, and this should be simple for the hotel to fix so I do not understand why the hotel would miss this to effect the reputation). The charges are simply unnecessary in a hotel that is claiming to be 4 star. The local staff said this is local practice; however that is not acceptable in this day and age. It felt like continual uplift and additional charges; although I must say that none of the staff were pushy if you did not want to take these. The charges included:- wifi (19 euro for week), fridge (i think similar), and safe. Note: Previous reports had suggested that there was a daily charge for towels. This is not actually the case. There is a 1 euro charge to CHANGE your towel if you want to washed; however no charge when you do not change it. The recommended supermarket - just out the back gate - charges up significantly. There is another about 100m across the river in the next block that is significantly cheaper (I would say 10-15% which means it is worth it if not just for a can of coke). The balcony furniture is plastic and cheap; not good enough for a 4 star quality today. Lets talk about some of the good parts now. The main reception areas are clean and large. There is a good entertainment programme; whilst it is not for everyone it will offer a lot in the evening. The Kids club looked very successful; it had a good base area and the kids all seemed very happy with their time their. The pool area and space is great for families and large (they say 4000 square metres of water, and I can imagine it is of this order as this is standout quality). The cleaners keep the hotel very clean overall; a great job in keeping rooms clean. The staff are professional and friendly. And now some mixed good and bad. The food is extensive in range, and plentiful. However in my view there is not enough local cuisine represented, and the lack of selection of places to eat means that despite the wide range it gets tedious (as you will see more from other reviews that go into this more). The location is quiet. However if you want to go somewhere local for a change this is an issue There is no personality to the place; and the walk to the lighthouse is one of the most boring roads with nothing to see; once there you will find selection of places to eat at a good price (and a lovely cheaper supermarket). The bar is quite expensive when there isnt much option nearby; it is a 4 star so cannot mark down for this, however it is captive as little choice nearby, and the receipt seemed to suggest the bar was run by Tui?? If you want to be in the hotel, to have your family relax in a large pool area, and to go with the food that is provided each meal then this will be a good choice for you. Otherwise I would suggest you consider reading more before making your choice.More
Fantastic location very helpful staff
We have just returned today 13th October ‘ from a great week at this hotel. The weather was fantastic the hotel staff were incredibly polite and helpful even although they were very busy all week as the resort was full . The pool areas are very nice well positioned for easy access to the bars and restaurants. There’s not a lot of walkable night life . However it’s only €5 in a cab to the shopping malls etc with some nice bars and restaurants. The rooms are of good quality and the cleaning staff don’t stop working. The hotel bar prices are good and more competitive than the UK despite the week £. In Short a great late summer place to goMore
Last holiday before husbands chemo
Stunning hotel, staff excellent, cleanliness brilliant however restaurant food not great ... my partner and I are not fussy eaters however the choice at this hotel is not great we ended up eating out most of our stay here.. restaurant far too busy food too spaced out and selection not great !! The beach area around the pool wasn't great either as there are many cats on site and they clearly use it as a giant litter tray ... found myself having to move to a different dumbed on several occasions to get away from the stench of cat poo !! Lovely hotel - let's itself down with petty charges
This is a gorgeous hotel, although a bit bigger than we're used to! Super, large room (Junior Suite) - although it overlooked the main road at the front there was so many plants outside shielding the view it never bothered us. However, a few negatives that we were greeted with on arrival: Rubbish aircon in the room 19Euros for WiFi 14Euros for the Fridge 15Euros for the Safe We have never had to pay for these in 4 star hotel before. It felt petty (particularly for the fridge which was actually switched on but locked!!). The room and the hotel were very clean, although the pool was a bit grubby in places and had a few tiles missing. Plenty of sunbeds every day if you wanted them but they were very close together - I would not want to visit in peak season when the hotel is at full capacity. It was worth a walk to the beach for the views and ambience around the beachfront cafes and restaurants. The food was very good in this hotel. Always plentiful with some good choices that were always hot. Disappointed with the charges for drinks - we were half board and 2.20 for a water is high.Drinks in general were a little expensive, including in Maspalomas, but the resort is very nice and the bars and restaurants a good quality. We went to Mogan on the bus and got the ferry back. It made for a great, relaxing day out. We also went with Thomson on the Island Trip - this was a good trip to see the island on. We loved Gran Canaria and Maspalomas but next time would prefer to stay nearer resort centre and beach. Oh, and the towels need replacing please! Well worn and rough and the bath towels were on the small side.More
