This high-end hotel has a pair of pools tucked among its pristine gardens. And it’s right on the seafront, too.
The property is set among vast gardens and ocean-view terraces. Style-wise, the hotel has just had a makeover, so everything's really contemporary. Bedrooms, for instance, are done out top-to-toe in cool grey.
In terms of location, it’s in a good spot with direct access to a car-free promenade and Maspalomas beach only a 12-minute walk away.

Excellent 5 star hotel to visit in November
The hotel was a joy to stay at. The staff were extremely helpful, the garden room we had was spacious and overlooking one of the pools. The food at breakfast and dinner were definitely 5 star. The weather was 25 to 30 degrees continuously The entertainment in the evening was good, but we were treated by a super group called Epic who performed a Freddy Mercury night and the next week a Michael Jackson night. This is a holiday to relax, as for me there was little else to do on the islandMore
Excellent place to relax
We just needed a holiday..too much work, moving house, builders. This hotel was an unknown . We arrived hopeful but expecting little. On arrival at the most beautiful reception area greeted by a delightful receptionist, we were told that the room was ready, but please go and enjoy a prosecco in the bar area. The hotel glistens as you arrive. The garden superior room was perfect, with the worlds biggest shower. 5 pools, clear, clean if a tad cool. ( not sure that they are heated yet)It was a pleasure spending days lying at different pools., just swimming or reading.Sun beds with padded mattresses. Attentive pool staff, towels on hand. A great buffet, tapas choices, dried hams, giant prawns, chefs cooking, cheese platters, no complaints, all excellent. 2 other waiter served restaurants, we preferred the one overlooking the sea, tapas starters followed by the most amazing finely cut ribeye cooked at the table on s hot stone. Entertainment seemed ok, we only went one evening. The hotel was directly on the promenade, which was perfect for strolls, totally safe. A short walk to the beach and sand hills. Overall , a great place to stay for couples. More
Excellent staff and service, excellent restaurant and food, excellent entertainment, everyone gets a sun lounger..... great location, lovely rooms. A mix of older folks, nationalities and families, but a 5 Star feeling. Especially liked the house band this year, enjoyed a mix of dancing throughout the evening. The evening shows were very good too. Only a small minus point was that the main pool was very cold, so maybe needs heating earlier in the autumn season? As a lot of folks do, we'll be returning again to this lovely hotel.More

EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR TOP QUALITY SERVICE
Returned year after year, and the welcome & service gets better & better. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and the hotel is spotless; food is terrific & the setting is superb. Location right on the seafront is a bonus, and the area surrounding offers plenty of scope for walking; shopping or dining. Only slight downside (and it won't prevent us returning) is evening entertainment - could be better for the standard of the hotel.More

Welcome to this retirement home
I remembered this hotel from back in the day (2001) when I was repping for jet air (= tui Belgium)...all praise from my guests of all ages. So now that I can afford it myself my partner and I decided to skip 1 year of Riu don Miguel and try this one for a change. Worst decision ever! We were shocked when entering the beautiful restaurant for the first time: every single one of the guest had grey hair!! At 39, I seemed to be the youngest guest around. And it seemed the hotel management and staff had all accepted this phenomenon without thinking twice. We were actually treated as old people, being refused any form of flexibility and being subjected to petty rules and exaggerated conservatism. 5-star accommodation with 2-star service!!! A pitty that our tui travel agent had not informed us about the average age in this hotel (if they didn't know, well now they do) Next year back to the fantastic Riu don Miguel!! 3-star accommodation with 5-star service. And I'll book it online instead of going to a travel agent!!More
