wonderful hotel just returned cannot wait to go back
Just back from a lovely stay hotel staff all great from reception to the staff who worked tirelessly behind the bars and snack areas nothing too much trouble entertainment team Leo, MIcky and the lovely ladies need a mention professional and caring had us laughing all the time and enjoyed taking part in some of the daytime activities. Food was excellent plenty of choice with some freshly cooked in front of you. We went on holiday to celebrate our 40 year anniversary they put champagne and fruit into our room with lovely card. We had one of the best holiday ever. Location of this hotel is great - and the people we met on their holidays staying their some telling us that they had returned to this hotel time after time. We cannot wait to go back and will be returning next year bringing some of our friends. Well done HOVIMA Costa Adeje you gave us a perfect holiday.More
Great start to a fantastic holiday
We stayed at the Hoviima for a week before joining our cruise and we weren't disappointed at all, very helpful and cheery colleagues good food and very clean rooms. We were warned about the building work opposite but this didn't spoil our time at all and having read in reviews about the shower leaking I took care when putting down bath mat and didn't have any problem.we would definately visit this hotel again.More

25th wedding anniversary
Just back from an amazing week celebrating our silver wedding anniversary. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. When we arrived there was a bit of a mix up regarding our upgrade to excellence, this was soon sorted and they put us in a lovely excellence room the first night and upgraded us to an excellence suite the next morning! It was very spacious with 2 balconies and our own sun loungers and the loungers at this hotel are very comfortable! Food was amazing, we only ate at the a la carte restaurant once (as the food in the restaurant was so good) our meal was superb, it was steak night! Didn't think the entertainment would be up to much as it was all inclusive but we enjoyed every night especially the comedy night, the entertainment team were hilarious!!! Leo and the guys did a fab job of keeping everyone entertained! On our anniversary we were given a bottle of champagne and a spa voucher which we used the following day and had the spa to ourselves, it was so nice! We spent our days at the infinity pool, it was lovely, very relaxing and amazing views! All in all probably one of the best holidays we have had! Can't wait to go back next year! Thank you Hovima for making our time there special.More
Gorgeous hotel, friendly attentive staff
My husband and I came here last year and we liked it so much we came back again this year, we were warned before we came that there was building work going on near the hotel. We could see the building work being done and although we could hear it, to be honest it wasn't too bad at all more of a background noise than a disturbance. The hotel was just as good as last year, very clean and tidy and the staff are very attentive. The restaurant is a help yourself affair with plenty of choice for everyone and again the staff are very attentive with nothing no trouble, please be aware that there is no de-caffeinated tea bags available though so you will need to take your own. So down to the negatives, again the no towels to be put on the sunbeds rule is completely ignored by everyone, with some people putting their towels up at ridiculous O'clock, there really is no need as there are plenty of beds for everyone. As a non-smoker the fact that there is no where to sit outside in the sun without some one lighting up near you is quite infuriating and to be honest quite off putting. We asked for a double bed but got to singles, which means that if you tried to have a cuddle one of you would disappear down the gap. The only other thing that I feel I should mention is the 'shower roulette' where it decides for itself whether you will be having hot or cold water, not much fun but nothing particularly major. Overall a fabulous hotel, clean, light and airy with staff that are so attentive and friendly, definitely worth a trip.More

Lovely hotel, shame about the building work
This is a lovely hotel, clean, bright and welcoming. The food is of excellent quality and there is lots of choice for every meal. We used both a la carte restaurants and found the food very good there too. It's definitely four star standard, including the rooms despite what others may say. We have stayed in lots of 4 star so have plenty to compare it with and it's up at the top of the list. To be honest we thought it was a fairly new hotel and were surprised to hear it's undergone renovations previously. The location is good for exploring the local area on foot or by local transport. The weather was hot while we were there and we spent 3 days on Playa el Duque beach, taking a complimentary packed lunch from the hotel. It's a good walk but very scenic along the coast and a lovely beach. We had a superior room, initially on the 6th floor overlooking the pool with both sea and mountain view however when we stepped onto out balcony the hotel next door that is being renovated was as "in your face" as it could be along with accompanying drilling and hammering. We knew about the renovation prior to going and after reading many reviews were determined it wasn't going to be an issue for us, but immediately felt we couldn't enjoy the restful holiday we needed because of this. We went to reception and asked if it was possible to move to the other side of the hotel. A room was found for us on the 8th floor on the other side with again mountain, village and sea views, with no noise from the building work- heaven. We snapped the room change up despite the receptionist saying it wasn't as good a room but it was just what we wanted- thanks again for sorting this for us. We sat by the pool on the Saturday and Sunday when it was quiet on the building site but went to the beach in the week. On Thursday we went to the market in the morning so decided to sit by the pool in the afternoon however the noise was horrendous with a giant power hammer breaking up concrete at the front on the hotel being renovated. We retreated to our peaceful balcony on the other side. In conclusion this is a lovely hotel with excellent food, good entertainment if you like that sort of thing, in an excellent location. The noise from the building work next door was an issue however I think it must depend on what's happening on site at the time you are staying as many reviewers say they didn't notice it, it was impossible not to notice it when we were there. We may well return once the building work is completed. Completion is supposed to be early next year but as the building is a concrete shell at the moment that looks a bit ambitious.More
