The Hotel Golden Donaire Beach has the location angle down – it’s in a beachfront spot close to the centre of town, and PortAventura theme park is only a few minutes’ drive away.
Location is the watchword here. Bars, restaurants and a waterpark are less than 10 minutes’ walk away, and El Racó Beach – a wide stretch of golden sand – edges the hotel’s grounds. PortAventura’s close by, too.
Sea views come courtesy of the pool terrace and bar – some bedrooms offer them, too. And there’s lots in the way of activities, with things like badminton, archery and water polo on offer.

Last minute due to monarch
Ok let's start with the basics the rooms are small but clean. Beware in October there is no air con which makes the nights uncomfortable. The staff are great friendly and helpful. The food is repetitive like most holidays but is hot and tasty. The views are the best part of this holiday the downstairs bar overlooks the beach which is stunning Avoid the catamaran if you are a larger person or person with mobility issues as the toilet is lower level steep ladder! Thomson reps should point this out. If you go tarragon go with reps we went ourselves and could not find anything remotely like ruins wasted a day. Friday market don't go until 10am as the stalls haven't set up. Animation team are fun and entertainment a little hit and miss. But overall a good hotel More
Last Minute Holiday
Best Holiday in years for my husband and I. Hotel lovely and clean, staff so friendly. I have Coeliac and the staff in the restaurant helped me every night and showed me the food I could eat this made my holiday complete. His name was Juan and would give me serving tongs to use so as not to get any contamination. The beach so right outside the Hotel. My only problem with the beach was the sun beds were 5 euros each and an extra 7 for a shade blind over the beds. In total was 17 Euros which we thought was too much so we stayed at the pool for free. Food in restaurant was the best and the selection each time was amazing. We cant wait to go back again. We only booked for 7 days but after 3 days we loved it so much we went to reception and booked another 8 days to stay.More

2nd holiday of the year
Tbh I wasn’t sure on what to expect, I had read the reviews and was a bit concerned- I had booked this as a 2nd holiday as me and my husband normally visit the Caribbean and stay in a 5*hotels, we thought we would treat our son and his g/f to come along with us. We travelled with thomson and had no problems. When we arrived at the hotel I firstly noticed how modern the foyer looked . Took a while to book us in - we had a room on the top floor - the room did let the hotel down as it needs updating, that is why I only gave it 4/5 stars. But it was clean, it was hot at night As the air conditioning got switch of the week before. Also no fridge in the room which was a shame. FOOD: well there is plenty to choose and the waiters are eager to serve you with drinks and seem to enjoy working there. Food from a buffet never seem hot but it’s the same where ever you go . We never went hungry! Surroundings- lovely beach however 10euros a day for 2 sun beds. We thought that was expensive. The pool was ok but we did notice you have to be up early to get beds as the pool did not seem to have much sun ! We went to the town and it was lovely ! Overall I was surprised on how well the holiday went, I heard that they are updating the rooms over the winter period so I’m sure that we push It up to a 4/5* hotel . I would recommend it to anyone of any age 😀More
Food was excellent, just one criticism , I would have liked to see 2 soups at night, the one offered was very wishy washy, not too much to do of an evening as playing Bingo at 2 euros for one game, only to find out the prizes were things like T shirt, towel. plastic flip flops, etc,etc so the only bar we found was 5 minutes away called Legends, I can recommend this bar, see my review of it,so, were it not for the soup and the boring bingo I would certainly have given it 5*, but certainly All STAFF there get 5* from me, can not pick out I person as all were excellentMore
