    Nothing to complain

Had a good stay at hotel Ylläsrinne. Staff was neutral, room was clean but little outdated, breakfast fresh and plenty. The hotel sauna was a nice addition, free of charge for hotel guests at 16-21 daily. It was nice to warm up after the day outside. Sauna was clean and modern. Separate sauna's for women and men. Room was your avarage hotel room, beds were alright. You could hear some sounds from other rooms and hallway when people were passing/talking. So not exactly soundproof but nights were quiet.
    A wonderful 4 nights stay

Myself, my husband and 2 friends stayed at this hotel in January. Check-in was quick and efficient and the reception staff were always polite and helpful. Our room was in the deluxe part of the hotel. The room was smaller than we’d expected but it was clean and had a big panoramic window looking out onto pine trees. The local ski slope was visible to the right. There was a coffee machine in the room as well as a fridge, a hairdryer and a nice little pot of sweets on the surface behind the bed. We found the temperature quite difficult to regulate in the room as it was quite hot. But it seemed to improve over the stay. Entry into the room was with a code so no key needed. Our friends had a few issues with their code but were given a key by reception. The main part of the hotel was only a minute’s walk away from our area. This is where the restaurant and bar were. It was rather too hot in the main area of the hotel which was where you met to go out on excursions - usually in about 4 layers of clothing! But as people were coming in and out of the front door, this was understandable. On our first evening we went downstairs to the kit room to get fitted for snow boots and ski suits - this is not chargeable. We were also given freshly laundered wool socks and thick mittens. The food standard was very high and you had the choice of either a meat/fish dish and a vegetarian meal each evening. The food we had wasn’t particularly hot but it was of a high quality and we enjoyed most of it. In the evening there was always a soup and a salad bar to choose from for a starter. They also served you fresh bread and butter and there was more to help yourself from if you wanted it. Desserts were good too. Breakfast there was always porridge, as well as cereals, breads, cakes, and cold options. Fruit juices were available and there was a machine for tea/coffee/hot chocolate and there was a water machine too. On our second night it was a special birthday for my husband and the hotel put us in a private dining area and had put balloons up and decorated the table. He was given a birthday cake and there was also a card and a bar of (delicious) chocolate. We were also given the pasta (vegetarian) option to try as well as the meat dishes we had ordered. The service was very attentive. When we complimented the pasta dishes and enquired as to what the ingredients were, the chef came out to talk to us which was a nice touch. The bar was small and was usually busy most evenings but there was an extra area to sit upstairs if you needed it. We did 3 excursions- the husky dogs, a snow trek and the snow mobiles. All of them were fantastic and the guides were friendly and informative. We really loved our stay here and would most definitely return. Temperatures were around -10 when we were there. I’ve never seen so much snow and it was truly magical. We took a trip out to the snow village whilst there too and that was a lot of fun.
    A Christmas trip

We visited as a family of 3 for 4 nights from 10th December. The hotel is fairly remote which is exactly what we wanted. The surrounding areas are very pretty and the snow was piled high for plenty of sledging. Lovely surroundings in the forest and very peaceful. The hotel staff were really friendly and happy to chat with my very excited 6 year old. The price of drinks and snacks are reasonable given the location and the food at dinner was especially good. I think there needs to be a few more options at lunch to be honest but that would be my only grumble. The room itself was very small for 3 and the bathrooms majorly need a refurb but despite that still comfortable and functional. We were at the back of the hotel with a good view over the forest. The excursions booked through tui were fantastic and added to the festive feeling with the inclusion of all of the elves on the coaches etc. the highlight of the trip for all of us was getting to see the northern lights twice. Absolutely stunning and an experience we won’t forget. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this hotel and location. We would love to come back in future.
Great stay at a cosy hotel

Good hotel, simple but cosy and clean. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is good and the dinner buffet is different and good every evening. The excursions organised by Safartica are great. The skiing slopes are only 15 bus minuten away. And nature is calling right outside the hotel There are two separate saunasfor men and wonen.
    Once in a lifetime trip🎄

Our daughter booked this as a late cancellation with INGHAMS. 4 adults 2 kids, 5 & 7 years old, to see Santa. Firstly, I would like to thank my daughter for including us old fogies, secondly our thanks to the INGHAMS Team, and finally Santa for giving the kids a most wonderful experience. We went half board for a week half board in a cabin 300m from the hotel. The cabin had everything, including a sauna & log burner. Very comfy and always warm. The hotel provide us with breakfast & evening meal ( buffet) style with something for everyone, both in the morning & evening. The Finnish coffee is amazing. Alcohol is generally expensive everywhere, expect to pay £7.50 for a pint of beer and similar for a glass of wine, so best to stock up on the Duty Free. There is a supermarket 35 minute walk away, and a nice ,safe, well lit walk away, for1/2 price beer. As this is a write up on the hotel, I would say they provide everything for your trip, and for that reason I give this a five star report.
