Can you do your own thing in the ports?
It's possible to do your own thing in most ports. You might need to do a bit of research first to find out what the must-dos are and what sort of prices you can expect to pay for buses, taxis and trains. Due to varying docking locations, it may be necessary to take a shuttle bus from the ship to the port entrance. Otherwise, a shuttle service may be provided to a designated central drop-off point in the town/city.
Our on-board Destination Services Team are the local experts so they'll help you in any way they can. Just so you know, though, we can't wait for you if you're not back on board at the time advertised at the gangway. If our organised tours are delayed, however, the ship will wait until everyone is accounted for.
