From sampling the local tapas to relaxing on the beach, and from big-city shopping to rollercoaster thrills, there's never a dull moment on a holiday to Spain. And with direct flights from Dublin, Cork, and Shannon, it's quick and easy to get there.

The Costas

Mainland Spain's biggest attractions are its long stretches of coastline. For dramatic views, the rugged rocks along the Costa Brava are a good choice, while the Costa Blanca is famous for its almost white sands. And for great weather, there's nowhere better than the Costa del Sol, which translates to 'Coast of the Sun' in English. Barcelona’s in the mix along this stretch of coastline, too – it’s the place that blends world-class architecture with a city-side beach.

The Balearics

The Balearic Islands are located just off Spain’s east coast. Formentera is the smallest, and, along with Menorca, it’s ideal for couples who want to chill out, with sand dunes and pine forests in the viewfinder. Majorca’s the biggest of the bunch and a firm favourite for families, it’s got more than 250 beaches with much of its coastline featuring shallow sandy shorelines. Then there’s Ibiza – the Balearic Island’s resident party animal is bursting with bars, pubs, and clubs.

The Canaries

Though they're over in the Atlantic Ocean, the Canary Islands are also part of Spain. There are seven islands in total, with holidays from Ireland taking off to the big four. Fuerteventura is the quietest of the pack, with botanical beaches and some of the island’s best beaches fronting its postcards. Lanzarote’s known for its lunar-like landscapes, while Gran Canaria and Tenerife boast the biggest activities lists from waterparks to whale watching.
