Seating options
Select Your Seat
Upgrade to Select Your Seat* to choose where you sit on the plane.
Secure your ideal seats from a map during the booking process by choosing Select Your Seat or buying any seating upgrade. Or, do it after you’ve booked via Manage My Booking. You can also upgrade in your local TUI Store or by calling us on 01 693 7700 (ROI) or 028 90 389 387 (NI).
Plus, by upgrading to Select Your Seat, you get the benefit of early online check-in. It’ll open 14 days before your departure, instead of 48 hours. Just so you know, you’ll still need to check in for your outbound and inbound flights separately.
Just so you know, seats 1A, 1B, 1C, and 2D, 2E and 2F on our 737 aircraft fleet are narrower than other rows, the armrest is fixed and the tray table stows inside it. These seats may not be suitable if you're using an extension seatbelt.
If you can’t decide where to sit, check out this 360-degree virtual tour of our Dreamliners. Just so you’re aware, children under 12 will be seated with at least one adult from your party, which could be in the same row, one row in front or behind, or across the aisle. This should be sorted automatically when you check in, but if not, please give us a call on 01 693 7700 (ROI) or 028 90 389 387 (NI).
*For full terms and conditions, visit the “Select Your Seat” section of our A to Z guide.

Seats with extra legroom
If you fancy a little extra space to stretch your legs, book one of our Extra Legroom seats. You’ll get up to two extra inches on your seat pitch, and you can choose where you sit from a plan of the plane. Plus, if you upgrade, you’ll also get the benefit of early online check-in – it’ll open 14 days before departure, instead of 48 hours. Just so you know, even with early check-in, you’ll still need to check in for your inbound and outbound flights separately.
These seats are suitable for both adults and children.
Upgrade by selecting Extra Legroom seats from the seat map during the booking process. Or, do it by logging into Manage My Booking, popping into your local TUI Store, or calling us on 01 693 7700 (ROI) or 028 90 389 387 (NI).
Seats with extra space
Treat yourself to extra comfort on your flight by booking Extra Space seats.
These include seats near the emergency exit doors, behind a bulkhead or behind a dividing wall, giving you extra space, and often extra legroom, too. For TUI Airways flights, adults and children aged 12 and over can book these seats in advance. If you’re flying with another airline, you’ll need to be 16 or over to book them.
If you upgrade to Extra Space seats, you’ll also get the benefit of early online check-in. It’ll open 14 days before your departure, instead of 48 hours. Just so you know, you’ll still need to check in for your outbound and inbound flights separately.
There are a few things you need to think about before booking these seats. To comply with European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA) regulations, emergency exit row seats must only be occupied by passengers who are able to move quickly and operate the emergency exit without difficulty in the unlikely event of an emergency. So, they’re not suitable for children under 12, anyone under the influence of alcohol, anyone requiring an extension seatbelt, or anyone travelling with an assistance animal.
Upgrade by selecting Extra Space seats from the seat map during the booking process. Or, do it by logging into Manage My Booking, popping into your local TUI Store, or calling us on 01 693 7700 (ROI) or 028 90 389 387 (NI).
Food and drink
Short and mid-haul flights
On short and mid-haul flights of up to seven hours, you can buy light bites from our in-flight menu which includes drinks, hot food and sandwiches. We have meals suitable for people with dietary requirements, as well. If you’re flying to Lapland on one of our day trips, a light meal will be included as part of your package.
Pre-order treats
You can pre-order Champagne and chocolate on our short and mid-haul flights. Just so you know, you’ll need to call us to add these to your booking.
Long-haul flights
On flights of seven hours or more, you’ll get a free bottle of water, a main meal* and a light snack before landing. Your main meal will come with a glass of wine, plus your choice of tea or coffee, and you can choose what type of meal you need when you book. Plus, you can still buy sweet and savoury snacks onboard.
*Just so you know, we don’t provide meals for under-2s, so you’ll need to bring something with you.
Luggage options
Bigger hold luggage allowance
If you’re worried you’ll overpack, you can buy extra luggage allowance before you travel. It’s convenient, and much cheaper than paying for it at the airport. Our luggage allowance page has more details.
If you’re travelling on a package holiday, you’ll be able to add an extra 5kg or 10kg per person, as long as you don’t go over the maximum weight of 25kg per bag. If you’ve booked a flight only, you’ll have the option to add 15kg, 20kg or 25kg per person.
Just so you know, you can’t book extra baggage for your return flight while you're on holiday. It can only be booked before you travel, for both of your flights.
Select extra luggage when you book, or, do it by logging into Manage My Booking, popping into your local TUI Store, or calling us on 01 693 7700 (ROI) or 028 90 389 387 (NI).
Sports equipment
Make sure your sports equipment is taken care of before you travel to avoid hassle at the airport. You can bring everything from ski equipment to golf clubs, along with musical instruments. You’ll just need to call us on 01 693 7700 (ROI) or 028 90 389 387 (NI) to arrange this.
At the airport and hotel
Late check-out
If you’ve got a late flight home, you can book late check-out and keep your room a little longer. You can add this when you book, or by logging into Manage My Booking, popping into your local TUI Store, or calling us on 01 693 7700 (ROI) or 028 90 389 387 (NI). Just so you know, it’s only available at selected hotels.
Assisted travel
Our assisted travel page has information on how you can book assistance at the airport or while you’re on holiday. We’ve also pulled together a handy video on assisted travel with TUI.
