Nice renovated hotel !!
The hotel is self is I think is beautiful nice ground clean the only thing that I can think of is the door on the rooms they close so hard by itself ,In the morning is annoying because you can hear all the rooms closing doors, The water is beautiful Caribbean waters clear but couple days it was seaweed I guess that’s nature !! The service was great they try to make you feel good very comfortable they tried the best ,shows at nighttime I will give them a b+ They were OK but we had a great time ,from this hotel you can go to the other riu hotels nearby within walking distance and you can’t use their facilities the surroundings very secure we felt very safe there definitely we will go back to his hotel We had a great timeMore

Its like coming wohome
This is the fourth time we have been at the Riu Palace Mexico and its like coming home. This time we brought friends and we were upgraded to a beautiful room over looking the gardens and fountains with a glimpse of the ocean to top it off. When we arrived the first person we saw was Manuel who always has a smile on his face. The staff at the front desk are ever so helpful. Next stop was the bar where we saw Elena and Jeronome and as usual remember the drink I always had. As we walked into dinner there was Santoyo who found us a table for four this time and hugs all around. Then came Adela who served us ever so much red wine that we continued to drink that we lingered over dinner for hours. Breakfast there was Nelcy who bantered back and forth with a smile every time. All the staff at the Palace are amazing. Next stop was the pool bar and Emilio, what can I say but thanks for all those amazing drinks, wonderful service and laughs. The food is amazing, the weather was fantastic, we were so relaxed that I think we will be back again next year!More

My partner, myself & our 8 year old son stayed at this fantastic hotel from 23rd October until 6th Nov. We absolutely loved it & will definitely return. Food is fantastic, pools lovely & the service is wonderful. Special thanks to Santiago,Carlos & Domingo in the restaurants...in fact all the restaurant & pool bar staff are fantastic. The wonderful reps work so hard & are great fun..Alberto the fitness instructor is so professional & his aqua aerobics is great each morning. Great kids club for kids too. Our room was the basic room but was beautiful,& was kept very clean by the staff each day. If you fancy a trip out I would recommend using the Scuba Caribbe guys at the pool (as opposed to TUI who are obviously more expensive),our trip out swimming with dolphins, then snorkelling on the reef was very well organised & the wonderful scuba carribe guys on the boat out to the reef are great. The gift shop in hotel is quite expensive so stock up on sun cream & swimwear b4 you arrive. Truly a lovely relaxing hotel with wonderful staff...please do tip them they deserve it.More
We had only a few days to get away and chose this resort. It was on the smaller side from ones we had been at before which was great! No carts but everything is a short walk to get to. The beach was very pretty and bigger than several resorts we've been to. Room was just a regular hotel room. Nothing spectacular but we werent in the room much anyway. Food was great (buffet, Gourmet, Steak, and Japanese). Pools were nice and entertainment staff very friendly. Not a single complaint and would go back again!More
Just like family!
This is going to be a lengthy review as I would like to answer many questions. I rely on reviews to choose our destination. We have been visiting Riu Palaces since 2006 and have found the Riu Palace Mexico to be our favorite. This was our fourth visit here and we were not disappointed. We usually celebrate my birthday but we were here for my husband's 70th and my son's 13th and we were very happy. We arrived earlier than normal on Saturday and we were greeted my Manuel's smiling face and high fives, and champagne! The staff at the reception desk was very helpful and let us know that they would notify us as soon as our room was ready. I corresponded with the reception desk by email before arriving. We love the room that we had last year and wanted the same one however we had some problems with the room so I sent the pictures in my correspondence and was assured that they would be taken care of. I believe in giving the management a chance to correct them before posting a negative review with pictures attached. It took two days for the problem to be resolved but the hotel was filled to capacity and the staff was very busy but it was all done and we were very happy. We thought that we would try Krystal for dinner as it was very good in the past. My husband and son were in nice shorts and button up shirts and I was wearing a dress when we tried to enter Krystal. There were only three tables with guests and we we were told very rudely that the restaurant required men to wear slacks. That is fine we thought that we would try even though we know pants are required. It was the way that the host put his hand up in our face and shut the door as fast as he could. We went to the buffet and the meal was just so so. We have always enjoyed the buffet and figured that maybe it was a transitional evening. We spoke to the management and they weren't very concerned about the actions of the host at Krystal. There is something good to know and that is if you should forget trousers they have some with a tie at the waist! This really could come in handy if you forget them. Fortunately my husband and son did have them for our visit to the Italian restaurant which we ate with our friends onTuesday night. The fettuccine Carbonara was very good, but the Osso Bucco and lamb chops were not up to par. The Don Julian buffet has a wonderful breakfast and on most nights the buffet had many good choices. The staff at the Don Julian are amazing and will take wonderful care of you. The same goes for the Guacamole restaurant at lunch. I really enjoy the Mexican restaurant for lunch and I don't think that a lot of people realize that it is open during the day. On to the Birthday celebrations. I spoke with Paco on Saturday and told him that we would be dining at the steak restaurant on Sunday for my husbands 70th and he arranged for a birthday cake complete with a celebration with the servers. The steakhouse really is wonderful and the view is beautiful! Santoyo arranged for my son's birthday festivities at the buffet on Thursday and it was Gala night, the food was fantastic. He had a Happy Birthday sign at our table as well as a delicious birthday cake. The entire buffet staff surrounded our table to sing! The front desk staff arranged for our room to be decorated for my son's birthday and wow was he surprised! I hope that you are able to view the photos because it was spectacular! The pools and beach are wonderful. The sun beds were hard to come by if you arrived at the beach later in the morning but the staff was working hard to accommodate everyone. Lazaro was at the pool everyday with a huge smile on his face and happy to bring whatever we needed. The entertainment staff was amazing and really got everyone engaged in activities from darts to dancing at night before the actual show started. A huge shoutout to Ana who never walked by without some kind words. I remember when she was new in April and now she really knows how to engage with all of the guests. I am so sad when I read the negative reviews about the small things such as the bathroom is too small, the beds were pushed together, seaweed etc. You are are here to have fun and enjoy the overall experience so ENJOY! Thank you to all of the staff that is too large for me to name individually as my review is quite lengthy. We will be back in April and I can't give you the number to the great room as I want to request it again!! Don't hesitate booking your trip to RPM! Please don't forget to be generous when tipping everyone the servers, housekeeping, and even the person passing out towels. Everyone works very hard to make your stay a pleasurable one. I would like to add that this is the first time that I have seen the management staff interacting with the guests and this leads to the hotel being even more fabulous! Thank you! More
