About Dubrovnik & Islands
Flights to Dubrovnik introduce you to the Pearl of the Adriatic. Red roofs, the leafy Lapad district, and one of the best-preserved Medieval old towns on the planet have earned this World Heritage Site city its semi-precious status. Its journey to the top of Croatia’s holiday list has been helped by its starring role in fantasy drama Game of Thrones. Fans flock to the city to see the fortifications that feature in the HBO series, and boat trips coast around the harbour to give you a seaborne view of the iconic city walls. Hotels vary from central townhouses, to sprawling, retreat-style places on the outskirts. But Dubrovnik itself isn’t the only gem in the Adriatic’s jewellery box. Just beyond its 13th-century defensive walls, there’s a series of oversized stepping stones – the Dalmatian Islands. Plenty of people who board our flights to Dubrovnik end up making these islands the base for their holiday. Those looking for hush head to Lopud, which is car-free, or Kolocep, which is scalloped with quiet pebbly coves and covered with pine trees. Make Korcula your base, and you’ll be close to child-friendly beaches, sleepy fishing villages, and an old town that’s been dubbed ‘Little Dubrovnik’. Foodies, meanwhile, are drawn to the pretty town of Cavtat. The culture-stuffed streets are well suited to adults, and tavernas and restaurants dish up some of the best Croatian cuisine around. International flights to Dubrovnik Airport travel direct from six UK airports. Check out our deals page for cheap flights and holidays here.
