The Miami of Morocco

Agadir, located on the Atlantic coast, has earned itself the nickname ‘The Miami of Morocco’. That’s because of its 12-kilometre beach, which boasts a similar feel to the famous sands of South Beach in Florida. A quieter stretch of sand can be found just a 30-minute drive to the north in Taghazout. A former fishing village, this is the place to experience a true taste of day-to-day life in Morocco.

Situated in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech is an old UNESCO-listed city that’s dominated by its colourful stalls and lively vendors. In fact, the city is home to the biggest souk in the country, so if you’re looking to pick up some souvenirs to take back home, there’s no better place to shop. Visit in summer to see the local gardens in bloom, or enjoy a touch of winter sun as the surrounding mountain peaks glisten with snow.
