Agnes Beach

After reading the bad reviews we was wondering what we will find when we got to the hotel, turns out the bad reviews are not all true! The rooms are basic but it is self catering and the pool bars sell nice food and its cheap, the cleaners came in every other day which was enough as we were out in the day on excursions or by the pool or doing the water sports, the reps and receptionisnt were helpful and friendly. As it was the end of the season it was quiet which is why we went at this time, the bars and reasturants on the strip are nice, really nice food and drinks and really friendly staff. Only bad thing is theres not much to do in the day around kavos unless you go on excursions or relax by the pool or on the beach because its all bars and reasturants. We done a lot of boat excursions we thought were great and a good price as we had food included. I can imagine in peak times it would be full of younger people as it is a party town but at the end of season when everythings quieter it is a nice place to visit.

Very clean rooms, basic but typically Greek, bar was well stocked even though it was towards the end of season. Food was delicious again basic snacks but very tasty. Right on the beach, supermarket next door which is 24 hours. Definitely recommend Agnes Beach.

Well where to start really... when we arrived at the hotel we were sent into a shop which happened to be the sister hotel of ours and also our reception... arriving late we thought we’d at least go along with everything and collect our room key to find out instantly we were charged individually for bedroom tax, air conditioning and WiFi! This mean if there’s more than one of you sharing the room then be prepared to have your wallets ready. Once being pointed down an alleyway and told where our rooms were situated we were in for the biggest shock of all. We opened the door for the aroma of sick and alcohol to hit you clean in the face, considering we booked the holiday specifically at the end of the season to stay away from all of this we were absolutely gobsmacked. Once heading back to reception to complain about this we were told there was nothing that could be done until the next day as all reps had left for the day baring in mind it was around 10/11pm and were told there was nothing that could be done until morning so we had to sleep in the room with the smell and mould. We then rang the 24 hour TUI helpline to be told exactly the same, once up the following morning we headed straight to the pool to attempt to find our rep Tom, baring in mind the complaints we put foreword to him he went and sent cleaners to our room who ensured us there was no sick to find them pulling the fridge completely out and cleaning everything splattered all over it and down the back. Considering the price of the holiday we did expect basic but CLEAN and that was the polar opposite to what we were given and still the response from our rep was “oh don’t worry I won’t be coming back next year either because it’s so dirty” We were offered to look at another room in another sister hotel opposite to find that was exactly the same standard with rubbish on rooves for a view. Considering they advertise the rooms as self catering there were no utensils to cook with and you were given a 2 ring hob to cook on which had seen much better days and the cleanliness of that was to be desired also. Opening the fridge on arrival in the room which was covered in rust from the outside to have the next pleasant surprise to see every inch of it covered in mould. I wouldn’t even cook a dog meal with the equipment they provided. Feeling like we needed to escape we took a stroll straight from our hotel to the beach to discover used Tampax and toilet tissue. This all on top of being messed about by yourself with change of flights and dates and having to fight for a refund on this was starting to make the holiday a holiday from hell. Returning to the hotel we noticed there were cats all over the place wondering in and out of rooms when doors open and then asked the pool DJ why there were so many of them around to our surprise him straight out tell us it was because of the rats. On top of this every single person we spoke to in our complex were feeling exactly the same we were about the place, absolutely disgusting and filthy. If you want people screaming keeping you awake until 7am every night, people have sex on sunbed a until all hours, rubbish thrown off balconies and the hotel doing nothing about it. Mould and sick smelling rooms where your bitten to death by mosquitoes and fleas then Agnes beach Kavos is just for you. We WILL not be returning to Greece because of this absolutely appalling hotel and customer service from Kavos! Oh and to top off everything the photos on the website were of the sister hotel where our reception was so we feel we were completely mis-sold this holiday!!! TUI are more interested in bums on seats and not about the health and safety of customers who spend their hard earned money on getting away. Absolutely appalling and we will be making our voice heard by putting this all over your Facebook page, trip advisor and even the papers if we have to because not once we were even offered an apology. Just told if we wanted to move to somewhere cleaner/better DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT GO TO KAVOS OR EVEN TRAVEL WITH TUI AS THEY DO NOT CARE AFTER THEYVE TAKEN YOUR MONEY!!!
