Excellent family holiday, very relaxing time away.
We had a fantastic time at this hotel. The staff could not be more friendly and work very hard. The pool area was good and plenty of sun beds for all. The room cleaning was always done very well. Food & drink was good, didn't have a bad meal and there was plenty of choice in the main restaurant. The only thing I would say is maybe consider a varied menu for the pool bar as not much choice there! More
Stayed here 28th September till 9th October 2017. Wouldn't class it as a 4 star .the bungalows need decorating and updating .the entertainment of a night was not great .the animation team tried hard but when they had done there show there was no other form of entertainment. There's not even a DJ in the disco bar .More
Excellent value fo money!
Booked this hotel with Jet2, and couldn't really fault it. The food is very good ( we stayed on a half board basis), plenty of choices and themed eating for the evening meals ie italian, spanish, asian etc. The bungalows are spacious and clean with tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge. They are just getting a little jaded so will probably need upgrading soon. The reception staff were always polite and helpful with any questions we had, and as we were departing at 17.30 hours, let us have our bungalow until midday, with a courtesy room after that time. Can't really comment on the entertainment as didn't use it. We did use the on-site gym, but it was a little disappointing as a lot of the equipment wasn't working, so there was usually always a wait to use the few pieces of equipment that were in working order! ALL IN ALL A GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY HOTEL IN A NICE QUIET FAMILY RESORT!More
Just returned from a Fantastic Holiday in maspalomas. We stay here at the Dunas Suites. And all I can say was it was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and cheerful all the time. The room consisted of a large bedroom a smaller lounge with TV and fridge and a good size bathroom. All very comfortable and regularly cleaned. Great choice of food and drink. And there was always something to have for meal times. Dunas have several pools to use and never got too busy. If you prefer the beach then there is a courtesy bus or a 15/20 minute walk to a beautiful beach and the famous sand dunes. Hotel entertainment was a bit hit or miss but the entertainment team always worked hard and were always Happy and pleasant. Think they just perhaps need a bigger budget for better shows. All in all we had a wonderful break and will definitely be returning More
A beautiful site
My partner and I stayed in a villa at this resort from 21 September to 5 October. We were extremely lucky with the weather, in fact it was too hot at times. We arrived at the resort after 10.00pm and were greeted by friendly and very efficient staff who gave us all the details of the hotel. We were taken to our villa which was just as well as it was dark and I'm not sure we would have found it easily. A cold supper was prepared for us in the dining room at 11.00pm. Our villa was lovely. I had requested a villa near a quiet pool and we got one. It had a huge bathroom which had both a bath and a corner shower, 2 wash basins (shampoo and shower gel provided), a bedroom and sitting room with kitchenette. The information provided had said there was a coffee machine so I presumed there would also be a kettle. There isn't so if you like an early morning cuppa remember to take your travel kettle or use the microwave to boil the water and just add your tea bags. It works a treat!! Some people have mentioned cockroaches and yes we had the odd one but the staff sprayed the room and left us with a can should we encounter anymore. In hot countries like this it isn't really unusual. The villas do need a bit of updating but when you think of the wear they get throughout the year they are not bad. Some of the villas are quite a long way from the dining room so be prepared for a walk. The dining room works like clockwork. Staff are well trained, friendly and attentive. Always someone to meet and greet. The food is excellent and quite honestly if you can't find something you like it's sad! We were all inclusive so drinks were free and some of these were branded. The Cava was lovely. A bit noisy in the dining room as there were a lot of couples with small children and babies but this is the continent and families all eat late whatever the age. The outside eating area (where we had breakfast) was cool and also run efficiently. Again a bit noisy at times. Although we never went into the bar area for the entertainment we did experience it from a distance. The animation team were young with boundless energy and should be congratulated on the work they do and the enjoyment they give. There was no pressure to join in but activities were there if you wanted them. There are several pools on the site. The main pool is the noisier and everything seems to happen there but if you want a quieter holiday go to one of the others. I had the pool to myself for the first few days. They are spotlessly clean and the water tested regularly. Nice sunbeds and umbrellas but maybe there could be a few more umbrellas especially when it gets really hot. Reserving sunbeds..........I was under the impression that towels would be removed if the sunbeds were reserved before 10.00a.m. No they weren't. There were plenty of sunbeds so didn't actually need to reserve them but humans are creatures of habit and once they have found a sunbed position they like they stick to it!. I'm not sure what it's like in July and August when it's really busy. You maybe have to go out at 6.00a.m. to reserve one! Pool towels are available with a deposit and you can change them for 1 Euro. If you leave the hotel by the front entrance and turn left you will come to the dry riverbed which you can follow past the nature reserve to the beach. It's roughly a 30 minute walk. We also went on one of the excursions advertised by the hotel. Due to the fires in the centre of the island, roads were only opened towards the end of our holiday but we managed to go on one of the VIP tours. Sadly this was spoilt by the late departure (the mini bus arrived half an hour late), no air conditioning in the mini bus and the lack of speaker in the mini bus so we couldn't hear the tour leader (however this was rectified). The lack of air conditioning was not good. The lunch that was included was very good and the scenery beautiful in the mountains. We were very lucky to have clear skies so we could see the bay of Las Palmas from miles away. The hotel is spotless and everyone works hard to keep it so. To single out staff would not be fair. Everyone from gardeners to waiters, to management etc were outstanding. A credit to the hotel. All friendly, obliging and smiley!! I would say that this is more of a family hotel than couples but as a couple you can still find a quiet spot and enjoy the sun and relax. Would we go again? Yes.More
