If you want to see the very best of Malta, St Julian's is a top choice. Holidays to St Julian's combine refreshing swimming spots with a lively nightlife and bustling marina. And best of all, you can be in the shopping hotspot of Sliema and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Valletta in just 15 minutes by car.
The town of St Julian’s is divided into a number of districts, each with something different to offer. Paceville, up in the north end of the town, is St Julian’s nightlife hub and attracts a young crowd. Portomaso boasts a busy marina, while Spinola is great for families thanks to its fast food restaurants. And for a glimpse into real island life in Malta, the residential district of Ta’ Giorni is well worth a visit.
Located away from the main commercial port in Valletta, the St Julian’s coast is a popular swimming spot. In fact, swimming is one of the most popular activities for both locals and visitors. The winding coastline creates a number of natural bays in the area, where the waters are protected from strong winds. The result is calm pools where families can enjoy a good old splash about.
St Julian’s is a great base for seeing more of Malta as it’s so easy to get to some of the island’s best destinations. It takes less than 10 minutes to drive to Sliema, or you can walk there in 30. Sliema has a massive commercial district, with a huge number of shops, restaurants, and bars. Alternatively, in 15 minutes by car, or 25 by public transport, you can be in the historic UNESCO-listed capital of Valletta.
There's a large rocky bathing beach at St Julian’s Bay. While there are also a number of watersports on offer.
