As with most wildlife destinations, there's a best time to visit Tanzania for a safari holiday. The dry season, which runs from June to October, is best for wildlife-spotting. If you want to catch the Great Wildebeest Migration, though, you’ll need to plan your holiday around June and July. The islands off Tanzania’s coast, meanwhile, are subject to the same seasons. The temperature doesn’t fluctuate too much – with high-20s being the norm – but the humidity generally increases during the ‘long rains’ in March, April and May.
Irish citizens need a visa to enter Tanzania, which can be obtained on arrival, or for a small fee, you can apply through our visa and travel authorisation partner – Sherpa.
