Holidays to Latchi bring the best of Cyprus together. Buzzing waterfront restaurants, sleepy beaches and pretty countryside – all within a stone's throw of historic Paphos.
Latchi is a small fishing village perched on the northwest coast of Cyprus. Set between the sapphire-blue waters of the Med and the Akamas National Park, this place is as pretty as a picture. The village might be quiet, but it's packed with plenty of local charm, lots of waterfront restaurants and an unspoilt beach, as well as countryside trails if you fancy a hike.
Latchi Beach unfurls across a couple of kilometres, carpeted with a mix of sand and pebble and accessorised with sunloungers and parasols. This stretch is a bit of a hidden gem, so the crowd levels tend to stay low. Best of all, it's easy to while away an entire day here, thanks to the selection of restaurants that are planted close to the shorefront.
Once the capital of Cyprus, Paphos still has plenty of ancient heritage to flaunt. The city's 45 minutes' drive away from Latchi, so you can easily explore its attractions. Must sees include the Roman amphitheatre and UNESCO-listed Tombs of the Kings. But Paphos has a modern side too, and at the harbour you can make the most of the contemporary bar and dining scene.
