Pissouri Holidays pair a Blue Flag-winning waterfront with a plot that’s within range of two of Cyprus’ top towns, Paphos and Limassol.
Pissouri’s main strip of sand, Pissouri Beach, is a Blue Flag number that spreads out for over a kilometre. It’s a pebbly swathe that’s backed by a bundle of tavernas, bars and restaurants – perfect for mid-tan meals and drinks. Plus, it’s dusted with a couple of watersports centres, where you can give things like parasailing and kayaking a go.
Drive west for 30 minutes and you can reach Paphos, one of Cyprus’ biggest towns. On top of its castle-framed marina and collection of bars, restaurants and shops, the area’s known for its link to the Greek goddess Aphrodite. You can see this side of Cyprus at Paphos’ ancient temples and centuries-old ruins.
Alternatively, if you travel east along the coast you’ll hit Limassol, a lively port town. It’s got all the essentials for a laidback daytrip, including first-class beaches – Dasoudi Beach boasts Blue Flag status – seafront restaurants and glitzy boutiques. And, if you fancy a bit of sightseeing, Limassol Castle’s archaeology and weapon displays are well worth a look.
