View All DealsHolidays to Uvero Alto are like a trip to paradise, with a white-gold sandy beach that's backed by stands of iconic tall coconut palms. While there are several high-end resorts in the area, Uvero Alto offers plenty of privacy and relaxing seclusion for honeymooners and couples.
The long sandy beach is deep and clean, and very appealing for sunbathing or romantic walks. Swimming is relatively safe if you remain close inshore. The Atlantic water is warm and the beach shelves gently, so it's good for small children to paddle. Note that in the more deserted stretches of beach, Uvero Alto does have some wild waves, and there are dangerous currents.
As long as you exercise proper caution, you can have great fun bodyboarding and surfing in these active waters. It's a great place to try out some watersports, such as banana boats, kayaks or water-skiing, available near the resort. For divers, there's a fascinating coral reef that attracts both experienced and novice scuba divers. On the beach at Uvero Alto you'll find a surf school offering courses, and surfboards to rent.
The main road runs along behind the beach, where you'll find a couple of restaurants, some souvenir stalls and a small shopping centre. There are stables at the nearby Uvero Alto Ranch, so you can ride a horse along the surf like all the best movie stars. Children will also be keen to visit the Sirenis Aquagame waterpark just 5 minutes away by car, or a 25-minute walk.
