Your duty-free allowance depends on where you’re travelling to and from, so it’s worth checking the rules before you travel.

Travelling to your destination

Duty-free allowances vary by country. For destinations in Europe, please check the latest Europe duty-free allowance guidance. For all other destinations, please check the duty-free rules for the country you’re travelling to. Just so you’re aware, some destination airports may carry out customs checks when you arrive.

Returning to the UK
The amount of duty-free goods you can bring back depends on where you’re travelling from and whether you’re arriving in Great Britain or Northern Ireland. For the latest guidance, including alcohol, tobacco and other goods allowances, please check GOV.UK guidance on bringing goods into the UK before you travel.

If you go over your allowance when returning to the UK, you’ll need to declare your goods and may have to pay tax or duty.
