The buck doesn't stop with the town itself. Sani's seven-kilometre stretch of Blue Flag award-winning beach is perfect for sunbathing, reading under a parasol or making a splash. A 30-minute drive up the coast will get you to Siviri Beach – just as pretty, but with fewer crowds and more tavernas.

Action-packed days

When you've had your fill of lounging, try out Sani Beach's dive school – just five minutes' drive away. Instructors can take you out to try for glimpses of loggerhead turtles and brightly coloured fish. If you fancy a hike with a view, head up the tree-lined coastal path from Sani and explore the ruins of a Roman villa on the way.
