Holidays to Verona take you to the home of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The city is also famous for its huge amphitheatre. Here, you can watch popular operas in the summer months. There's also a great shopping scene and plenty of nightlife.
This romantic city is perfect to wander around. Its many narrow streets, brightly coloured buildings and old-fashioned architecture make for great photo opportunities. The Verona Arena is a Roman amphitheatre with 14,000 seats, perfect for catching a musical performance in the summer season. If you possibly can, get tickets for a night at the opera.
Rather like the feuding Capulets and Montagues in Romeo and Juliet, the city was in part created by the merciless Scaligeri clan who used to run Verona. Their graves can be found at Arche Scaligeri and serve as a token of the city’s troubled history. Today Verona is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised for its beautiful parks and bridges, and its medieval and Renaissance architecture.
A holiday rep will meet you at the airport and help you to get started, but there won’t be a rep based at your resort in Verona. If you have any questions or concerns, however, you can always call our 24/7 TUI Service Centre.
