View All DealsHolidays to Calodyne transport you to one of the quietest regions of Mauritius. Enjoy the local laidback way of life and relax amongst the natural scenery that's all around you.
A lot of travellers choose the on-the-go atmosphere of Mauritius’ south coast. However, the island’s north coast is not to be missed. Calodyne’s position, overlooking a string of islets on the peaceful northern shores, is a place to unwind. The nightlife and energy of the south are replaced with calm swimming pools and kids’ clubs. This makes Calodyne a great destination for families or couples looking to take their holiday at a slower pace.
The natural environment of Calodyne offers plenty of opportunities to discover new sites, like the Daruty Forest, and relax in peaceful settings. You can walk to Anse La Raie, one of the area's top beaches, in about half an hour. It's the place to be If you’re looking for a chilled-out getaway. There’s also a botanical garden, located just a 20-minute drive away. It’s home to over 650 different species, including some wonderfully unusual plant life, such as the bell-shaped ‘trochetia boutoniana’ flower, which is only found in Mauritius. You may even spot some giant tortoises.
Although Calodyne is known for its quiet and low-key nature, it doesn’t take long to reach one of the more energetic towns of Mauritius. A 20-minute drive to the west will take you to Grand Baie. This is one of the best-loved beach destinations on the north coast. La Cuvette beach is especially popular with its almost white sands. There are also great shops and supermarkets worth checking out here.
