View All DealsFly from Dublin as part of your travel adventure to the paradise island of Mauritius. Holidays to Le Morne bring you face to face with exotic wildlife and untouched nature. Climb to the top of the mountain for stunning views, or appreciate the picture-postcard scenery as you stretch out on the white sands.
Le Morne gets its name from the Le Morne Brabant mountain. This giant monolith towers above the peninsula, rising 550 metres above sea level. A large lagoon surrounds the base, and there are dozens of caves and overhangs to explore. Le Morne Brabant is open to the public, but take a guided tour to learn all about its history and cultural significance. The trek covers some pretty rough ground, so don't forget to pack your hiking boots. Tours last around four hours, so this is definitely one for more active holidaymakers.
Take a boat tour out to the Crystal Rock. This beautiful rock formation lies 200 metres offshore. See it up close, then drop anchor for some snorkelling. And keep your eyes peeled for the friendly dolphins. Some boat tours set off in the early evening for a relaxing sunset cruise. But if you're looking for more action, put your name down for a fishing expedition led by the local experts.
Resting on the south-west tip of Mauritius, Le Morne is a little slice of paradise. A sparkling sea frames the white sands, with miles of lush green forests in the background. This untouched idyllic retreat is home to exotic and rare plants, including the Mandrinette and the Boucle d'Oreille. Nature lovers can also come face to face with some of the more exotic locals. Say hello to the flying fruit bats, mongooses, geckos, and many more interesting characters.
