A natural environment

If you’re a true nature lover, it doesn’t get much better than Trou d’eau Douce. To get a feel for what to expect, just take a look at the Mauritian flag, decorated in red, blue, green, and yellow. These are the colours you can expect to find all over the village. Yellow sands, blue waters, and green countryside. You'll also get a pop of red as you stroll through the historic streets lined with colourful stalls and marketplaces.

Island adventures

Sunny Mauritian afternoons are made for beachside fun along the almost five-kilometre coastline. For a day out with a difference, take a boat trip over to Île aux Cerfs. This nearby island provides shade from the hot Mauritian sun with its dense tree cover, but the real draw is its beaches. Sandy and secluded, the beaches here are ideal for relaxing. The rocky, coral-rich waters off the coastline are very popular for snorkelling. There’s even an 18-hole golf course on the island, if you fancy a round.
