Doha might be all towering skyscrapers and modern hotels these days, but it grew from humble beginnings. The city started out as a small fishing village. And if you know where to look, there’s loads of history to dig into – like thousand-year-old masterpieces at the Museum of Islamic Art. Don’t pass on your chance to shop for souvenirs at the Souq Waqif, too – traditional clothing and spices are some of the must-buys here.
