Little cheap week in the sun!
Stayed in top floor to the side off the apartments, nice view off the mountains and great sun trap :-) love Ibiza and wanted to see this part off the island!I now know why I keep going back to santa eularia . The people in santa eularia are lovely and a alot more accommodating and genuine! Del ray is a good base and clean as long as your not ocd clean then book 5 star as for a 2 stay its good. The pool is very pretty and most off the day in oct peaceful and relaxing! The staff yes????fake as....and that putting it nicely could tell they where just putting up with us tourists and it slowed!! Felt as if it pained them to try with us.And the owner that man needs to sell up ,to someone that would have the energy and passion to inject some much needed tlc to the place! I said hello to him a few times trying to be polite,he just looked though me with a grumpy face! Near fell over near the end off the holiday when he actually said hello back!then wondered if it was because I was spending more money at his bar :-) money money money just keep spending all your money at his bar then you mite get a real smile lol.Sad very sad as it could be so great this place and I gave it very good for the rooms and that's it.More
I'm not going to flower this up to be something it's not, the hotel is a 1970s palace, but it is clean and serves it's purpose, I personally came on holiday for the sun, sand and to experience ibizas magical isle once again. Del Rey is cheap and dated but it makes a great base with fantastic views, this is my second visit and I wouldn't hesitate to return, if you are going to spend your holiday in the appartment and you hate 70s decor then this probably isnt the place for you, but if you intend to use it as a base for a beautiful, affordable beach holiday, it's perfect! there does however seem to be an odd drain smell in the bathroom, I recommend packing a small bottle of essential oil to over come this, it's not terrible but it was present on both my visits and my second stay was better with it concealed :) More
Basic but ideal
My experience here is great our apartment was very clean seen cleaners about 4 times the week we were there it is basic but the location is something else! Beach right outside your door step bakery and restaurants right underneath you pubs round the corner , shops etc. The shop up by the ticket booking stall out to your right is the cheapest for food if self catering. Restaurants at other end of the beach are great and good value for money on average for a meal and drinks for 4 we were anything from £40-£50. Transfer from airport was only 40 mins. Pool area is a wee gem and the views fantastic staff were very friendly. Would definitely consider going back again. More
Fabulous location and views over Portinax
We were lucky enough to be allocated Studio 35 on arrival, this has to be one of the best views in Portinax. The Studio had everything we needed for a lovely stay. The balcony was big with stunning views over the bay, the bathroom had a bath with overhead shower which was really powerful, we had hot water on tap as there was a water heater in the bathroom. Cleaning and fresh linen was three times a week which we found quite adequate. The pool area is lovely and the infinity pool simply stunning, the only problem for us was that we found the sun beds quite uncomfortable and no food or drink can be taken unless purchased from the pool bar. Out and about in Portinax there are some wonderful restaurants, nothing posh but all very nice, our favourites were the Real (connected to the apartments) and one of the best Chinese restaurants we've ever been to (can't remember what it's called but it's around the other side of the bay). Quite a small Town with about 10 restaurants, a couple of Supermarkets and a handful of souvenir shops. The draw to Portinax is the stunning beach, golden sand and clear blue sea make it beautiful. Sun beds are 7 Euros each, a bit steep and a lot of people just use their own lilo's or towels. We went on a trip on the land train, nothing to shout about really not sure that I would recommend it or do it again, poor commentary and not enough information given about the caves (where we went) in terms of the amount of walking/steep steps to access, one of the ladies on our trip really struggled. All in all a wonderfully relaxing holiday, we would definitely go back to Portinax, would stay at this accommodation again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.More
very dirty apartments
location very good and views. I personally didnt book this short holiday and certainly wouldnt come back again, the apartment was ok size wise as there were 6 of us and served its purpose as a base. The rooms didnt look liked they had been cleaned in months and balcony, thick dust on louvre doors and filthy floors. Certainly didnt want to eat there.More
