Just returned home having spent 14 days here 30th Sept to 14th Oct 2017. Have been previously and it still keeps up its standards. We again had a select room with a large balcony overlooking the prom and sea. The food was good and the night in Sarahs was just amazing. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and keep the hotel to a high standardMore
Great Hotel - pity about the pool
I’ve just returned from spending two weeks at the Protur Alicia in Cala Bona. The hotel itself is very nice, extremely clean and the staff are very pleasant. The food was probably the best we have had from any hotel and the restaurant staff were excellent. We enjoyed every evening meal we had there offering a wide range of dishes. The breakfasts too were great with everything you could ever want for breakfast although, being slightly picky, we felt the choice of cereals were a bit limited. The rooms, although slightly small, had a wonderful sea view and were extremely quiet. As far as my husband and I are concerned, the only thing letting this Hotel down is the swimming pool which is not heated at all and extremely cold. I could not even attempt to have a swim as much too cold for me and 99% of the other customers. In my opinion, the pool is just for show and although there is a jacuzzi that is attached to the pool it is WAY too cold to sit in. I’ve never known a jacuzzi which is as cold as my cold water tap at home. This did spoil our holiday to a point as both me and my husband like to swim every day. The Infinity pool is slightly warmer but not to a great degree. Cala Bona is a lovely area and there is a lovely flat walk which takes you into Cala Millor. The marina is also a short walk and there are plenty of bars and restaurants. The transfer from the Airport is about an hour if you are lucky like us and didn’t have any pick-ups on leaving the Hotel.More
Spent a week at protur Alicia on a half board basis. This is a very modern adults only hotel overlooking the sea. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean. The rooms are on the small side with a odd layout, the toilet and shower are separated by a glass sliding door and the sink is in the bedroom outside , quirky but you soon get used to it, the double bed was very comfortable with a duvet, the room had a fridge and a safe (payable) tea and coffee making facilities and a beautiful sea view The food was very good for both breakfast and dinner with plenty of choices. On your first day you are given a table which is yours for dinner for rest of your stay, you can also use the a la carte restaurant for one day of your stay which we found was well worth it The hotel had some nice touches, we arrived in the early hours of morning and we were told on checking in that there was some food left for us in the restaurant (we didn't avail of this as we were tired and wanted to go to bed) but it was a nice touch and on our last night we were given a glass of cava with our meal . The staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble, on our last day we weren't going to picked up till late and were able to keep the room until 6pm ( small charge) which was great. We would certainly come back to this hotel again as we could find no fault with it, if we were being picky and had to find some fault maybe the room is a bit small but overall this is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location on the sea front with good food, excellent staff and great facilities More
Great return visit to Hotel Alicia and Cala Bona
How great to be received at Reception by a really friendly and helpful team. The team members that have worked there for a while recognised us - great! We had requested by email, a preferred room on the 1st floor, as we enjoy the extra balcony space, the extra charge being worth it, and we had been allocated just the room we wanted. We stayed a fortnight and thoroughly enjoyed it and the surrounding area which offers easy walking and a good selection of restaurants, should you wish to eat out. If you fancy lunch time Tapas a great place to try is La Vendetta in Av. Critsobel Colom, Cala Millor - plentiful selection and reasonably priced. Back to the Hotel Alicia - the food, as always was plentiful and of a reasonable quality. We always take advantage of an evening meal in Sara's a la Carte Restaurant, where again we were recognised as returning guests and given first class service and food. Our fortnight's stay was over far too soon and after a short discussion once home, we have booked again for 2018. A big thank you to the Management and Team at the Alicia - keep up the good work.
