Discover the historic Old Town, the pristine beaches, and the dramatic landscape of Fuerteventura on holidays to Jandia.
Jandia, on the southwestern tip of Fuerteventura, is one of the best beach destinations in the Canary Islands. However, Jandia is more than just its shoreline. Discover the soaring Pico de la Zarza mountain range, dive into the trendy dining scene and energetic nightlife, and wander the historic streets in the Old Town of Morro Jable.
Jandia's claim to be one of the Canaries' finest beach destinations is partly down to its 32-kilometre coastline. The shore is made up of huge sand dunes, wide-open stretches, and glittering lagoons. You’ll also find a tavern-lined promenade. If you love the beach, you can find sections that will feel made for you: surf spots, sunbathing havens, watersports sites, and family-friendly swimming areas.
The eastern side of the peninsula makes up part of the Natural Park of Jandia. If you like to hike, this is where you should go. The trails are full of vegetation that grows only in the Canaries. You can spot birds here such as Barbary falcons, Egyptian vultures, and the cute Fuerteventura stonechats. Make your way to the summit of Pico de la Zarza for the best outlook on the island.
Morro Jable isn’t a part of Jandia, but it is right next door. Once a fishing village that perched on the harbour, it’s now one of the best dining spots in the region for fresh seafood. Best of all, if you dine with a view of the sea, you might just spy a dolphin jumping from the waves.
