2 outdoor pools
Two good sized pools lay side by side here at the centre of this complex. A large wraparound sun terrace comes with sunbeds and parasols. Palm trees dotted around provide that bit of extra shade.
Children have their own pool to splash around in. It's right by the main pool so parents can keep a keen eye from the terrace.

On arrival we were checked in quickly and given directions to our apartment which we found easily. Apartment was excellent, clean and plenty of room. Lovely view from our room 213. Spar shop next door catered for everything you would need for self catering. The only thing you had to hire a kettle . No free wifi. Pools were nice and clean not too cold. Beach a short walk away , walked into Puerto Rico a few times and that is a lovely walk. Went to the Europa centre a few nights taxi just cost a few euros. Went to the turbo bar lovely staff brill atmosphere excellent DJ. The only thing that did let the apartments down was the night time entertainment which was horrendous. One man, who loved the sound of his own voice, doing a quiz and bingo is not good entertainment. We will definitely be back we had a fab time at this lovely hotel. Good value for money. More
Needs updating of accommodation & 'entertainment' ;-)
This review is for Gran Amadores apartments & not the lovely resort & surrounding areas. Plus points: Apartments are spacious, plenty of room for the 2 of us. Pool bar prices are very reasonable for alcoholic drinks & not bad for food. Negative points: Cleanliness in our apartment was nonexistent :( (Room 116 on Ground floor) Cleaners entered our room 4 times in 7 days. Emptied the 2 bins, & pulled the sheets back over the beds. Towels (threadbare & smelly) were changed once. Bed linen was NOT changed. Our apartment was NOT cleaned at all. Dirty floors, shower area, worktops, appliances etc. Dusty furniture, grimy fridge & cupboards & a floor that was not once swept or mopped is not good enough Thomson! We spoke to reception & the Thomson rep about this but to no avail :( As previous people have stated apartment was hot & stuffy due to no air-con We had the front window & bedroom windows open the whole week, but unfortunately that meant being woken up at 3am, 4am, 5am etc by drunken guests returning from nights out :( Also the lack of a kettle in self catering accommodation is a joke. When we tried to hire one from reception they did not have any! We felt that cleanliness around pool & bar area was also lacking: Floors, sunbeds, sunbed tables all grubby. Pool bar seat covers looked like they'd never been washed & the beer mats were disintegrating through never being replaced! 'Entertainment' As pleasant as Paul was when we arrived here, we are perplexed as to how people can rave about his 'entertainment'. Every night was Shots Quiz, then Bingo followed by Karaoke. All undertaken on a very loud p.a system by a drunken Paul himself. The 'entertainment' is stuck in a timewarp, with no variety even in the songs being sang (1950 - 1980?!) There was no let-up from the noise, so like a lot of other people we went out every night of our holiday, no relaxing on the terrace with a bottle of wine for us!! We had a lovely week as we enjoyed going out and about day and night to the beach, Mogan & Puerto Rico & would return to Gran Canaria. However, the cleanliness & entertainment were the worst we've ever had on holiday & so we would definitely not come back to Gran Amadores.More
Got back last night from a fab week at the Gran Amadores. Apartments are basic but well laid out and very clean. Good size bedroom and bathroom. The complex is not big but has everything you need. The apartments are all pool facing . There is a small shop but we used the Spar 2 mins round the corner for the basics. The bar/restaurant are excellent value and Nacho and his team do a brilliant job. As mentioned in other reviews the entertainment is a bit hit and miss but hey ho you dont have to watch it. What really made this holiday for us was the friendly atmosphere and the lovely people we met. Everyone made the effort to talk to each other and got on really well. Dont think we have ever laughed so much. Most nights were spent on the balconies chatting away. Would we go back there. Yes in a heartbeat. It may be a budget holiday but this place has got it spot on with price, location and atmosphere. Well done Gran AmadoresMore
Just spent a week here with my partner and my son and his family the staff was great with our jack whom has a egg allergy and autism, The rooms are clean and tidy only thing is there are no kettles ,cleaner come twice in the week Towels changed once . Pool side bar drinks 2 for 1 all day up to to this weekend food is great any thing from pizza to burgers. pools are clean and tidy but does say that sun beds are not to be reserved, but by 8.30 in the morning your lucky if you get a sun bed night time entertainer Paul was funny and good with our jack well done Paul you made jack feel right at home all we get off jack now is ho no not bingo lol,the bbq on Wednesdays and Sundays are fantastic value for money with all you can eat, we all enjoyed our stay and will return again.More
We stayed st the Gran Amadores for one week the end of September, we had fantastic weather in the high 20s everyday the apartment was basic with lost of room and clean, we stayed in 103 and had no problems sleeping room was very quiet at night, the so called entertainment was rubbish same very night we went out each night to get away from it, one thing to bare in mind when staying at these apartments, there is a small but sometimes smelly treatment works just over the road from the bus stop and when waking past can sometimes stink, if you walk up from the beach just before dark you can see the cockroaches escaping from the drains, would we go back no We had a lovely holiday but that was more to do with the weather and beach, we do plan to go back the Gran Canaria but would stay at another resort More
