My wife and I visited on 12th October for week and wow what great place! Staff are fantastic, food is fantastic, drinks are fantastic(except cocktails) direct access to the beach via secure gate in the lovely gardens. There seems to be a more elderly clientele but that was fine, everyone was pleasant no matter what nationality. It really is all inclusive, safe, beach towels and all drinks. Rooms are lovely and the whole hotel is kept to great standard, the staff are very diligent with making sure every part is clean and work really hard. The only thing I think could improve are the cocktails, a bit more effort on presentation and content to the standard of the rest of the hotel would be nice. Have just booked a week in June next year and can't wait!More
Stayed at the Riu palace oasis for 4 nights with friends . On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady at reception who said she would sort our rooms while we went for lunch everything was explained to us and we received a room upgrade. Our room was 2 off 5 rooms in the gardens just off the pool near the garden bar and entertainment area. Our rooms were large clean with an area off sun loungers and chairs outside . It wasn’t explained that there was evening entertainment till gone 11 each night you wouldn’t get an early night not good for children due to music being played loud. Ok for our group to sit and listen outside our room. Pool was nice but cold . reserved sun beds first time I have experienced having to place your towel so you could lay by the pool . We were not given a ticket to claim our pool towel so a bit off confusion at first but easy sorted. Plenty of sun beds in the large garden in the grounds off the hotel. We used the hot tub which was nice . The beach is just out from the gardens and what a beach it is . Large with shops and cafes . Nice walk along the front we climbed the sand dunes. The food was good lots of choice in the buffet restaurants both for lunch and dinner no themed nights though! The a la carte wasn’t that great bland and rushed no atmosphere. The AL drinks menu was good plenty to choose from. And when you wanted it. Staff were attentive but not overly friendly. Overall the hotel was nice the clientele were older but it was ok 5 ladies who are 40 so entertainment wasn’t to our test. We just relaxed . Nice area Maspalomas . More

Another Relaxing Break
Second Visit, excellent stay. As reviewed before, all staff work hard to ensure you have a relaxing stay. Excellent food, Hotel very clean, pool area clean, easy and direct access to the beach via a card operated gate. The location is directly on to the beach and the grounds are set in Gardens. More

Tired Hotel in a Great Location
I was looking for a beach weekend following a week of work in London and had heard good things about Canary Islands and decided to check out Gran Canaria. This hotel was originally going for a lot more so when I saw a discounted rate of 1/3 the general price for an all inclusive I jumped at the chance. All in all, I would say for what I paid, it was fine. However, I would be VERY disappointed if I had paid full price. What this hotel has going for it: - Location: Great location right by the beach and a short taxi to the town center - Food: All in all was pretty decent. I just stuck to the buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I found the variety to be quite nice and tasted good - Some Staff: The housekeepers, cooks at the restaurants and bartenders were very friendly, and smiled and greeted me. What I didn't like about this hotel: - Some staff: Interestingly enough, the staff that you would think of not being as "guest facing" (i.e. housekeepers / cooks) were the friendliest. I found the reception and waitstaff staff (older gentleman in both cases) seemed bothered when I interacted with them. Check in was very rushed and I had a hard time understanding all he was explaining to me (I checked in around 7:30pm and there was no line at the desk so I am not sure what the rush was?) and when I asked questions he just seemed like he was annoyed. - Rooms: I was traveling solo so in a pretty small room (which was fine) but the AC didnt really work. I went to reception after letting it stay on for a couple hours and reception said they would sent maintenance. When I returned to the room later I could tell the room was not any colder so I went back to reception and they said it was fixed...and I said it wasn't. After lots of typing and sighing they agreed to move my room but only for the night and that I would have to change rooms the next morning after breakfast. Although that was annoying to have to change rooms again I agreed. The second room, although larger, was not much cooler but by this time it was very late and I just needed sleep. The next morning I changed rooms again and this room had decent AC, but smelled musty (in truth, all the rooms did) however, since I was leaving the next day and was going to spend the day at the beach I didnt say anything. - Overall Hotel Condition: While everything was clean,(except the hotel room carpets) the hotel just had a very tired and dated feel to it. Like it was in need of a rehab. - Having to select a dinner time: Sort of felt like a cruise ship and I didn't like being boxed in for a dinner time. I ended up not having dinner the 2nd night because I wanted to eat earlier but it "was full." As others mentioned, this hotel seems to have a bit of an older clientele, which is fine with me. I didn't stay there to hang out at the resort all day (most of my time was at the beach during the day and city center at night) but if you are looking to have a "lively" atmosphere, this isn't it IMO. The gym was outside which was kinda nice on the cooler nights. The pool always seemed busy and I tried to stay away from the restaurants at peak time.More
