Los Cancajos is set on the east coast of La Palma, the pocket-sized Spanish island in the Canaries off the north-west coast of Africa. Mind the gap

In the middle of La Palma you'll find Caldera de Taburiente National Park – named after the huge volcanic crater at its centre. It's surrounded by cliffs, so you can expect some jaw-dropping views. Gaze out at wild mountain forests and snap some great shots for your Instagram feed.

Beach life

A five-minute walk from town will get you to the closest of the three bays that make up Los Cancajos, a Blue Flag award-winning beach. Here, you can snorkel or scuba dive in waters as clear as glass – if you're lucky, you might spot a sneaky octopus.
