View All DealsHolidays to Playa de los Pocillos in the Canary Islands bring you to a relaxed Lanzarote town, but leave you easy access to volcanic scenery, vibrant markets and a local party town. Book a flight from Dublin, Cork or Shannon, and take some time to unwind.
Playa de los Pocillos, located on the east coast, was built in the early 1990s. There’s a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops, all surrounding a lovely sandy beach. The vibe is comfortable and relaxed. A promenade runs through it and along the coast to nearby Puerto del Carmen. It only takes 15 minutes to walk to this neighbouring town, and it’s a great place to visit if you’d like to experience a livelier party scene of an evening.
Playa de los Pocillos is a great place for families. In addition to the safe, calm beach, several of the town’s eateries offer free evening dinners for children. Also, a 10-minute drive in the car will get you to Rancho Texas Park – one of Lanzarote's most popular attractions. You’ll find everything here from Wild West theme days, horse riding and canoeing, to a great selection of animals – snowy owls, white tigers and pygmy goats among many more.
Many of the island’s great sights are within half an hour’s drive of Playa de los Pocillos. Yaiza is a lovely white village filled with tapas restaurants, art galleries and a 17th-century church. Teguise boasts a castle-turned-museum and has two convents to explore. Lanzarote’s capital, Arrecife, offers great shopping and many top-notch seafood eateries at El Charco lagoon.
