Flying direct from Dublin, holidays to Playa Paraiso in Tenerife offer a quiet, relaxed resort with a great selection of restaurants, scuba schools, and a saltwater lido. Clubbing towns, waterparks and a huge volcano are all within easy reach.
Playa Paraiso is located on the southwest coast of Tenerife. It’s a laidback resort with a selection of restaurants, bars and shops. It has some livelier neighbours, such as nightclub capital Playa de las Americas, and trendy Costa Adeje. If you enjoy waterparks, you have two nearby options to choose from – Siam Park and Aqualand. In addition to all of this, volcanic Mount Teide is easily accessible for a daytrip.
There is a small beach in Playa Paraiso, but it’s very rocky and mostly suitable for snorkelling and scuba diving. Instead, many people head to the saltwater lido, which boasts sunloungers, a restaurant and a tropical-style waterfall. If you’d like an actual beach, though, take a 10-minute drive to Costa Adeje. Here, you’ll find two Blue Flag sandy stretches. A 15-minute drive, on the other hand, will take you to Playa de las Americas. This has no less than six beaches, and lots of water activities such as windsurfing and jet-skiing.
Playa Paraiso is a great resort, but if you want a day out on another part of the island, you’ll have plenty of options. On the same route as Playa de las Americas – just 15 minutes up the road – you’ll find Aqualand waterpark and Jungle Park. The latter is a busy safari park with eagles, white lions, and much more. To reach Mount Teide, Spain’s highest mountain and the third largest volcano in the world, will take an hour in a car or bus. When you get there, choose between hiking to the summit or riding the cable car. Either way, you won’t regret the effort when you see the spectacular views.
