View All DealsHolidays to Cambrils bring you face-to-face with contemporary Spanish culture, Michelin-starred restaurants and rich, local history. And with flights going direct from Cork, Dublin, and Shannon, a summery Spanish retreat is always close at hand.
Cambrils is a Catalonian town nestled on Spain’s picturesque Costa Dorada. This former fishing village is now home to a selection of Michelin-starred restaurants and stylish cocktail bars. Together with the quaint streets of the Old Town, with its market stalls and traditional eateries, this mix of old and new Spain makes Cambrils a truly unique destination.
Stretching for around seven kilometres, Cambrils’ shoreline hosts nine Blue Flag beaches. Most are lined with sunbeds and parasols and have lifeguards patrolling the dunes. Ideal for families looking for a beachside holiday, these golden shores also boast a great selection of watersports for more adventurous travellers. Because of how the winds pick up a little further out to sea, windsurfing is particularly popular. But you can also try your hand at kite-surfing, scuba diving and sailing. Most of the beaches also boast small food shacks, known as chiringuitos, so you can always grab a bite to eat after a day in the water.
If you’re looking for a change of scenery, Cambrils is in an ideal location for day-trips around Catalonia. The PortAventura theme park is great for families, boasting a huge selection of rides, slides, and watery play areas for parents and kids alike. Only a 15-minute drive from Cambrils, the park is in a prime position for a relaxed day out. For something a little further afield, trains from Cambrils station can take you all the way to Barcelona in just 90 minutes. Here, you can marvel over Gaudi’s famously unfinished cathedral, the Sagrada Família, or grab a tour of the Camp Nou, FC Barcelona’s world-famous, 90,000-seater stadium.
The soft, golden sands of Cambrils beach stretch for nine kilometres along the Costa Dorada. In high season, a variety of watersports are on offer.
