Flights to Sicily

The largest Mediterranean island has long played its cards close to its chest, but now the secret’s out. You’ll find Sicily nestled just off the south west coast of Italy’s famous boot, showing off sapphire seas, swathes of soft sand, and a mountain setting which boasts the mighty Mount Etna as its leader. Direct flights from the UK take around three hours to reach Palermo Airport, the gateway to nearby Lascari and Cefalu. Both radiate outwards from charming piazzas. And while Lascari takes care of easy-going vibes, rolling countryside and local flavours, Cefalu rolls out an eight-kilometre beach and up-to-the-minute summer nightlife. Set your course for Catania Airport, and the flight time only increases by half an hour. From here, you can transfer to Sicily’s answer to Monte Carlo – Taormina. This town’s popular with the international jet set crowd, thanks to its tree-decked scenery, glamorous lidos, and an elegant Medieval quarter. Or, travel further north to Letojanni, and you’ll find a dainty village gathered along a huge stretch of sand.
