Flights to Agadir and Taghazout

Direct flights to Agadir’s international airport take around four hours from London or Manchester, and they’ll set you down in the land of sun, sand and saffron. It may not be one of Morocco’s larger cities – Casablanca takes the crown for sheer size – but Agadir sells itself on plenty of other fronts. Thanks to its position at the base of the Atlas Mountains, and selection of the country’s best beaches, the city more than hits the mark landscape-wise. The curve of golden sand extends for six kilometres, flanked by the glossy marina at one end, and the Royal Palace at the other. Team this with the ancient Kasbah, luxury hotels and ultra-modern nightlife, and it’s easy to see how Agadir has seamlessly meshed old with new to cement itself as a travel hotspot. Plus, it’s not just an adults’ playground. With plenty of child-friendly experiences like sand-surfing and camping under the stars on offer, Agadir’s tapped into the family holiday sphere, too. Before you return home, make tracks to the region’s largest souk market, where you can barter for cheap deals on vintage Arabic or French books to practise the lingo. Or, fill your boots with A-grade spices, and keep the taste of Morocco in the air long after you’ve left
